　遠い国やマイナーな国、行きづらい国へ行った人の話を聞くのは面白い。どんな遠くにも、人の暮らしがあること、想像を絶する景色があるこということ、行くだけでも大変な場所のことを知るのは興味深い。しばしば、旅好きの間では、マイナーな国に行くことが一種のステータスのように扱われることもある。

学生の内に50を超える国々に訪れる強者たちもたくさんいて、彼らの話を聞いていると、やっぱり面白いし、自分が知っている以上の大きな何かが存在するような気がしてしまう。

だから、私も、もっと、もっと遠くへ、一種のステータスに浸れる場所に行きたいと思うし、一方で、自分がしてきた体験なんて、、、と劣等感や敗北感に苛まれることもある。

でも、じゃあ、近い国での体験は、遠い国と比べて価値が下がってしまうのだろうか？そんなはずはない。

　どこに行っても、その先で得られるものがある。もし、それを"価値"と呼ぶのであったら、近かろうが遠かろうが、メジャーだろうがマイナーだろうが、それは、それって。比べるに値しないほどの、それだけの価値が存在する。

上がったり、下がったりなんてしない。

だから、一歩ずつ、自分のペースで進めていければそれでいい。隣の芝は青くない。

私はあくまでもありのままに。

死ぬまでにみたいと思う世界を見れれば、それで満足だ。

　It’s interesting to hear the story from the people who have traveled to distant, hard to reach, or minor countries. It’s interesting to know there are human’s lives, glorious places unimaginable, and difficult places to just get there, no matter how far away. Often, travel enthusiasts treat going to a minor country as a sort of status.

There are students who have traveled over 50 countries so far. I really like to talk with like those, I mean travel-lovers, and I really enjoy listening their stories. Then, I notice that there are much more things that I don’t know in the world when I talked with them, which makes me eager to go on journey, like I also wanna go farther and farther and reminisce about the past but, on the other hand, the experience that I have had can be inferior and defeated somehow.

However, is the experience in a near country less valuable than in a far country? That should not be.

Wherever you go, there is something to be gained. If you call it “value”, it’s worth it. It doesn’t matter whether its near or far, major or minor. It doesn’t go up or down in value. Be that as it may.

So, step by step. If I can proceed at own pace, that’s fine. The grass isn’t greener on the other side of the fence.

I’m just as it really is. If I can see the world I want to see before I die, I’ll be happy.
