Weekly question #39 Would you ever hire a cleaner for your house?

This is my article about weekly question from 英語手帳 2024. The theme in August is "Endless house chores" （終わりのない家事）.




Weekly question: Would you ever hire a cleaner for your house?

Yes, I would love to hire a cleaner for my house. However, I haven't actually done it.

If I could try to hire a cleaner, I would ask her/him to clean the kitchen sink or the kitchen fan. I am just curious how the professional cleaner will clean them.

One day, my husband and I tried to clean the air conditioner and we found out that the filter was covered with dust! It was terrible! It may be a good way to clean up by hiring a professional cleaner, if cleaning really bothers you. The cost may be expensive, but it is worthwhile.


自分の家の清掃業者を雇うことはありますか？

清掃業者を頼んでみたいと思いますが、実際に頼んだことはありません。

もし、頼むなら、台所の流し台や、換気扇の掃除を依頼したいなと思います。特に換気扇は、取り外しできるところは、思い立った時に掃除をするのですが、できないところもあります。プロの掃除方法を知ることもできそうですし。

また、いつだったか、夫とエアコンの掃除を頑張ったときがありました。フィルターがホコリまみれで、えらいことになってました！こんな空気吸ってたのかと思ったけど、なかなかやる気になれません(笑)

清掃業者に依頼するのも、掃除するのが面倒なら、良い方法かもしれませんね。費用はそれなりにするかもしれませんが、しっかりきれいになるなら、いつか頼んでみたいと思います。
