Weekly question #33 What traits do you have that others admire?

This is my article about weekly question from 英語手帳 2024. The theme in July is "Learn from historical figures" （歴史上の人物から学ぶ）.




Weekly question: What traits do you have that others admire?

My colleagues complement me that I finish up my tasks on time or before the due date. So, they sometimes ask me for advice or help out to finish their tasks. 

Actually, I'm able to finish up my tasks early since I try to keep in mind the due date and the priority of each task. Or else, I couldn't keep my schedule well and my hands will be full. 

In addition, not all tasks may not be done ahead, but I try to work on them as much as possible. And of course, we work as a team. I can't do all my tasks alone. My colleagues also helps me out, so that's why I can finish up my assigned tasks.

人から称賛されるような、あなたの特徴は何ですか？

有難いことですが、仕事で、同僚から期日までに、もしくは早めに動いてくれて助かると、褒めてもらっています。早めに動いて、私に余裕ができると、これ手伝ってっと、よく頼まれます。

早く担当業務をできるのも、できなかったことができるようになったからですし、期日を常に意識して、動いているからです。優先順位を決めて動かないと、あとで大変です。締め切り直前に、別の仕事が舞い込んできて、これも急いで～っと、言われた時に、落ち着いて取り組めなくなってしまいます。

それでも、早めに取り組めない仕事もあったりするので、臨機応変ですが、なるべく、先を見越して、動くように心がけています。こんな風に、できるようになったのも、同僚たちにも助けられて、お互いに協力できているからです。

何事も余裕を持って、動けると良いですよね。
