絆

kittyの夜中の一人遊びが過ぎると、みゃーおの声で起こされてしまうことがありますが、それは彼女も同じようで、
「kitty？」
と、落ち着くよう懇願するようにkittyの名を呼びます。
すると、kittyはとことことベッド近くまで来ることがありますが、近くをうろうろ歩くだけで、眠る気配はないことが大半でございます。

kittyが夜中に元気になり過ぎてしまいますと、眠気がピークな僕は、申し訳ないのですが、頭からすっぽりと布団を被り、眠りに戻ることだけに専念してしまいます。
被ったからと言って、kittyの声が聞こえなくなる、そんなことは全くなく、定期的に耳に入ってくるのですが、同時に、彼女の寝息も聞こえてくるようになります。眠りに戻る早さに驚かされつつ、僕はより眠りに専念。

眠りに一歩足を踏み入れたようなところで、再び、みゃーおという声が遠くから聞こえたな、そう感じるやいなや、隣から、ぱぱぱぱぱぱ、と、kittyの声に呼応する彼女の声も。
それでも、ぱぱぱぱぱぱ、という声が聞こえた直後、すーすーという寝息が聞こえてきまして、眠りながらにしてkittyに呼応しているのだろうか、と、二人の関係性に感動すら覚えつつ、いつの間にかみんな眠りの中へ。

朝目覚めると、kittyは足元ですやすや、彼女は隣ですやすや。二人の絆の目撃者。

I sometimes wake up during night when kitty plays with himself too much and it also happens to my girlfriend. So she calls his name “kitty?” asking him to chill. Then he often comes close to the bed, but just walks around there and doesn’t go to sleep.

I’m sorry, but I usually concentrate on going back to sleep covering from my feet to my head with a blanket because I’m so sleepy even when he keeps playing with himself.
Covering my whole body with a blanket doesn’t completely help me out from any noises, and regularly his voice comes into my ears and her breathing too. I’m impressed by the speed of her going back to sleep, but I try to focus on my sleep more.

I feel soon after I heard his meowing when I was at the entrance of my sleep, she meowed back to him. But right after she did it, I heard her breathing again. Then I felt like they are communicating with each other even when they are unconscious.
I can see them peacefully sleeping on the bed in the morning. I am a happy witness of their bond, right?
