今回は主に、2023(令和5)年度の入試問題を参考にした類題です。
Question 1 だけ少し解説を加えて、
Question 2 以降は 問題例＋解答例 を載せます。

◆Question 1

Some people say that playing sports can help us to stay healthy. In your opinion, how can playing sports be helpful in addition to improving our physical health? Write your idea and explain it.

【問題文の和訳】
スポーツをすることは私たちが健康なままでいる助けになるという人もいます。あなたの意見では、スポーツをすることは、私たちの身体的な健康を増進[改善]するのに加えて、どのように役立ってくれうるでしょうか？（以下略）

【Tips】
スポーツといえば「体に良い」というのがすぐ思いつきそうだけど、あえてそれ以外の利点を問うている。いきなり書き始めずに、まずは自分の方針を立てよう。以下に、候補を挙げてみる：

◇精神面（ストレス減少、気分転換）
わざわざ問題文にphysical health (身体的な健康) と書いてあるので、それとは別の mental health (心の健康) について論じる。
【使えそうな表現】
・reduce stress　ストレスを減らす
・relieve stress　ストレスを和らげる
・feel refreshed　爽やかな気分になる

◇対人面（友達ができる、コミュニケーション能力）
もちろん全てのスポーツが他人を伴うわけではないけど。（例えば水泳は１人でもできる。）
でも、soccer や basketball など、チームプレーのスポーツを具体例に挙げれば、人間関係の面での利点をアピールできる。
【使えそうな表現】

・develop/improve communication skills　コミュニケーション能力を向上させる
・cooperate　協力する
　→「協力」はcooperation

他にも：
◇目標を立てて、それに向けて努力する体験ができる

ちなみに、この問題に限らず、「何書いて良いか分からない！」というときは、ChatGPTからヒントをもらうこともできる。ライティング問題で「何を書くか」プランする段階でつまずきがちな人は、ChatGPTの力を借りて、色んなアイデア出しをする練習をするのもアリ。

In my opinion, playing sports can be helpful for improving our mental health. For example, when we face problems, just thinking about them alone is often not so useful. In such cases, playing sports can help us feel refreshed and forget our troubles for a while. Then, we may be able to think in a more positive way. In addition, if we play team sports such as soccer and basketball, we will communicate with other players. Talking with others can also make us feel better. In this way, sports can improve not only our physical but also mental health. (99 words)

It is said that artificial intelligence (AI) will be used more widely in the future. It can have both good and bad effects on our lives. In your opinion, how will AI affect us in the future? Question 6
Books help us in many ways. However, some people say that books are too expensive. Do you think 2,000 yen is too high as a price of one book? Write your opinion and why you think so.

QUESTION 2
If I have an opportunity to try something new, I will travel abroad. I have never been abroad, so this will surely broaden my perspective. I will not only visit new places but also communicate with local people. In this way, I can make new friends and learn various ways of thinking. Also, I would like to try local food and wear traditional clothes. This will let me know more about different cultures and also understand Japanese culture better. For these reasons, I really want to try traveling overseas. (89 words)

QUESTION 3
I want to acquire better communication skills. I am shy, so I often find it difficult to express my ideas clearly to other people. For example, I often cannot ask my friends to help me when I am in trouble. If I could deal with others better, I would be able to share my views and make more friends. Also, I think communication skills will be necessary when I work in the future. Sharing opinions and understanding each other must be important when I work in a team. Therefore, I want to be better at communication. (96 words)

QUESTION 4
Although the Internet is helpful, it also has some negative aspects. First, information on the Internet can be false. For example, fake news is sometimes shared on social media, and a large number of people believe it without doing any research. In addition, some people cannot stop using the Internet. In fact, one of my friends is always watching free YouTube videos and does not seem to have enough time to sleep. Many online contents are fun, but in some cases, they are too attractive that people cannot put down their smartphones. (92 words)

QUESTION 5
One of the positive effects of AI is that it will do much of the work that is done by humans now. For example, AI will be able to make and grade tests instead of teachers. Thanks to this, teachers will have more time to communicate with their students. On the other hand, AI can also have some negative effects. One of them is that it may take jobs away from humans. For instance, if cars with AI technology become popular, the number of human drivers might decrease. Like this, AI will have both positive and negative effects on our future. (101 words)

QUESTION 6
I do not think 2,000 yen is too expensive for one book. It is true that we can enjoy other things with 2,000 yen, such as going to a movie or having dinner at a restaurant. However, generally speaking, one book can be enjoyed for a longer time. For example, it takes about a week for me to read one novel, and I can fully enjoy the world of the novel during the week. Other kinds of books, such as books about business or math, offer valuable information and knowledge. When we think of the importance of learning and the efforts made by the authors, 2,000 yen does not seem too expensive to me. (114 words … ちょっと長め。ちなみに2023年度入試の公式版の解答例は90語程度)
