January 31, 2023: Season for Entrance Exams, Incidents (1)（受験シーズン、事件（１））

It is a peak season for entrance exams in high schools and universities. The candidates must be busy with measures against the cold and COVID-19.
I took them about forty years ago, too. I had some trouble those days.
When I took a high school exam, I had my father drive to an exam station by car. Then, I took tests for three subjects and an interview. Until then, everything went well, and I was sure that I would pass it. And when I was about to go home by bus and train, I found that I had no money. I was at a loss for a while and decided to go home on foot. At that time, I was near Kyoto JR station and was vaguely sure I could reach my home by walking on to the west. So, I kept walking in that direction. In the beginning, I had unease about the way I was heading. But as I went on walking, I found a familiar sight and was convinced that I was heading in the right direction. Eventually, I took one hour to arrive home.

　大学や高校の受験シーズン真っ盛りです。受験生の皆さんは、寒さ対策とコロナ対策で苦労されていることと思います。ボクも高校と大学を受験しました。その時を振り返ると、トラブルもありました。
　高校受験は約45年前です。当日は、父親に車で受験会場まで送ってもらいました。そして、3教科試験と面接を受け、受験を終えました。ここまでは順調で、合格を確信しました。そして、バスと電車を乗り継いで帰宅しようとした時に、お金を一円も持っていないことに気付きました。しばらく途方に暮れましたが、歩いて帰ることにしました。その時、JR京都駅の近くにいたので、を西に向かって歩けば帰り着けると確信もありました。そこで、ひたすら西に向かってい歩きました。最初のうちは、なんとなく不安でしたが、途中から見たことのある光景が見えてきたので、間違いないと確信して、歩き続けました。そして、約1時間後に無事帰宅できました。
