January 26, 2024: My Daughter and Her Baby （娘と赤ちゃん）

Since the beginning of the new year, 2024, I have not yet seen my daughter and her fourth-month-old baby. I miss not being able to see them. On the second day of January, I expected them to come to my home to celebrate the New Year. But they cancelled the plan. They were busy during the year-end and New Year holidays. And the baby seemed to be a little tired. In addition, they came to my home in December to see my wife and me. So we decided to give the baby a rest instead of coming to my home. So I have not yet had a chance to see the baby. But I have got a lot of information about her through my wife. She has been keeping in touch with her daughter all the time.
I heard from my wife that the daughter went to a Karaoke box with her baby to see her friends. But I was surprised to hear that because singing a song in the baby’s face is very bad for the baby. But I was wrong about a karaoke box. It was not the place to sing but a place to enjoy meeting her friends with their babies. She went to the karaoke box, which has a special room for babies and their mums. The room is exclusively designed for them and has an atmosphere where they can relax and do not have to worry about anyone else. As the room is a soundproof one, babies can cry, scream or play as they like. The daughter and her baby seemed to enjoy a pleasant time there with their friends.
They also seem to be busy with other businesses and the daughter has sometimes asked for the help of her mother. A few days ago, she called her mother to see if her home would be able to look after her baby around early February because she had to go out alone for business. My wife was delighted to agree to look after her and is now busy doing her body care. She has started going to a chiropractic clinic.

娘が友達に会うために赤ちゃんを連れてカラオケボックスに行ったと妻から聞きました。それを聞いたときは、 赤ちゃんの目の前で歌うのは赤ちゃんに良くないので、驚きました。でも、カラオケボックスを誤解していました。カラオケボックスといっても、歌う場所ではなく、赤ちゃんを連れて友達と会って楽しむ場だったのです。 赤ちゃんとそのお母さんのための特別な部屋があるカラオケボックスに行ったのです。 部屋は、子連れのお母さん専用に設計されており、誰にも気を使わずにリラックスできるような雰囲気になっています。 防音室なので、赤ちゃんは、泣いたり叫んだり、思う存分遊ぶことができます。 娘と赤ちゃんは友達と楽しい時間を過ごしたようです。
２人は、他にも用事があり忙しそうです。娘は時々、母親（ボクの妻）に助けを求めてきます。 数日前も、用事で一人で外出しなければならないので、2月上旬頃に孫の世話ができるかどうか尋ねてきました。 妻は喜んで世話をすることに同意し、今は体のケアで忙しくしています。整体に通い始めました。
