September 25, 2023 Kenji Sakaguchi, Comeback!, Hip Replacement （坂口憲二さん、復帰、人工股関節）
I am very glad to hear that the former actor, Kenji Sakaguhi, will make a comeback soon. If he does, it will be the first time I have seen him since he quit it five years ago. About 5 years ago, he had to give up his acting career because he suffered from a disease. That is, the heads of his high bones died and changed the shape. It is the iopathic osteonecrosis of the femoral head.
Frankly, I suffered from the same disease in both hips about 28 years ago in 1995. At the time, I was told by my doctor that it was a rare disease and that I had no choice but to have a hip replacement. So, I only had my right hip replaced.
I gather from my experience that Kenji must have had both of his hips replaced. Actors have to perform with their whole body. Otherwise, no actor has a chance to stand on stage. So Kenji must have been determined to have both hips replaced since he must have had no choice other than that. He also took plenty of time for rehabilitation. 5 years on, he has come back at last. He may need a little more time for his full comeback. But I am very happy to see him on screen. He is the star of hope for those who have the same disease as me.
Unlike him, I have not yet had my left hip replaced. I have tried not to have it for as long as possible due to the lifespan of an artificial hip. In general, the lifespan is said to be 15 to 20 years. I am fortunate that my right artificial hip has no problem so far. My doctor told me about a year ago that it is in almost the same condition as when I had it about 28 years ago. So maybe it is time I have my left hip replaced and I am released myself from my pain. For the last 28 years, I have struggled to walk as well as possible, but to no avail. I do not know how long I will stay alive. But I will not have to have my hip replaced again if I have had it within a few years. It is time to think about it seriously.
うれしいことに、元俳優の坂口憲二さんが復帰するそうです。もしそうだとしたら、５年ぶりです。彼は、５年位前に、病気に罹って、役者を断念せざる終えなかったのです。大腿骨の骨頭が壊死し、変形してしまったのです。病名は、特発性大腿骨頭壊死症です。
実は、ボクも同じ病気を1995年に発症しました。その当時は、まれな病気と言われ、人工股関節の手術以外に方法はないと医師にいわれました。そして、相談の結果、片足だけ、人工股関節の手術を受けることにしました。
この経験から、坂口さんの人工股関節の手術を受けられたと思います。しかも、両股関節の手術を受けられたのではないでしょうか。俳優さんは全身を使って表現することが求められます。そうしないと、舞台に立てません。なので、坂口さんには、俳優に復帰するには、両股関節の手術しか選択肢はなかったと思います。また、リハビリにもたっぷりと時間をとりました。あれから５年、坂口さんがついに復活です。完全復活にはもう少し時間がかかるかもしれませんが、近いうちに、画面越しに彼に会えるのが楽しみです。坂口さんは、ボクのように同じ病気をもった人の希望の星です。
坂口さんとは違って、ボクは、左股関節の手術を受けていません。人工股関節の寿命を考えると、できる限り、手術を遅らせたかったからです。人工股関節の寿命は15年から20年と言われています。幸いにも右の人工股関節はいまのところ問題ありません。主治医には、1年前に、手術をした時と変わらない状態だと言われました。なので、そろそろ、左に人工股関節の入れて、自分を苦しみから解放してあげる時が来たのかもしれません。この28年間、上手に歩けるように努力してきましたが、うまくいきませんでした。いつまで生きるかわかりませんが、今、手術を受ければ再手術をすることはなさそうです。真剣に考えます。
