【Inside beBit】Management Department - Morifuji-san

Inside beBit - A project in which we ask 10 questions about a beBit member's work and personal life. We hope that “Inside beBit” will provide an opportunity to get to know more about the individuals you work with.
In this issue, we asked Morifuji-san who works from the Management Department to answer our questions!

1:Tell us about your background
High School: As I didn’t like the sound of “General course,” I took the “Japanese Language course” instead. My school was a bit unique, as we would ride bicycles around Nara’s Manyo spots as part of our classes. In one of my classes, we studied only the world of Kenji Miyazawa for one year. That’s where my fascination with him comes from.

University: I joined the department of Japanese Literature and continued questioning the meaning of “true happiness” that often appears in Kenji Miyazawa's works. I spent four years studying not only modern literature, but also linguistics and literature theory.

Employment: I joined a human resources company as a new graduate without proper job searching. I spent my time agonizing over who and what I was working for, then, resigned. After that, I lived life leisurely, and came across beBit.

2:Why did you join beBit?
I cannot bear to act without being convinced of the purpose or meaning of my actions, and I had a difficult time at my first company as we were told to dive head first with tele-appointments without putting any thought into it.
I lost trust in people and lost sight of what it meant to work. When I found beBit, I felt I could work with a sense of purpose and meaning. I felt my values would match with this organization, so I decided to join.

3:Please tell us about the work you do at beBit
As HR Recruitment, I am mainly responsible for new graduate and mid-career recruitment for the Experience Design team.
I am also involved in attendance management, checking the attendance system and conducting labor management training. The key is, “clock in, clock out, submit applications everyday, and meet deadlines.”

4:Tell us what you value most when working
“Be sincere.”
When job hunting, whether for the first time or not, people must make major life choices and think seriously about their lives. I want to be as sincere as I can when interacting with these people.

5:Tell us one thing you like about beBit
I thought about changing my answer as other members already gave this one, but, in the end, it’s the people.
There are many kinds of people, but they are all good and smart. The more I dig, the more unique, interesting, and rich aspects of them I find, and my respect for everyone knows no bounds.
I love feeling that I will never meet any individuals similar to those who work here ever again.

6:What’s something about you that hasn’t changed since you were a child?
I cannot tolerate people who do not have a sense of right and wrong and people who cannot think of those around them. I don’t mean they have to be an amazing person, I’ve just had a dislike for people who don’t understand they are being selfish, that look down on others, or do not give thanks, ever since I was a child.
However, I’d be exhausted if I got annoyed every time, so recently I have learned to just feel sorry for them.

7:Please tell us about your talent, or anything you are proud of
My memory is something I feel I can brag about, just a little.
I often remember things unconsciously and extensively, varying from “what I was wearing when I went out on XX of 2021,” to “topics spoken about when we were at 〇〇 back in XX”.
As I accumulate information, I strive to successfully convert it into “knowledge” or “sense”.
However, I am only good at memorizing things unconsciously, meaning I am not very good at intentionally memorizing things. Interesting, right?

8:Tell us a recommended place or product from your hometown
Minoh Falls
I recommend this waterfall for its nice autumn foliage and easy access while sightseeing in Osaka.

Katsuo-ji
A temple of winning luck. The eerie number of Darumas is nice as well.

9:What do you do during your free time?
I am preparing for a wedding at the end of October. I’m not very particular about things so decisions are quickly being made, but it’s still a lot of work… Those with experience, please, give me advice…

10:Tell us about any challenges you would like to attempt
I would like to draw, write, take pictures, or make things… I want to do things with tangible results.
I am slow and not very good at expressing my thoughts and ideas… but it’s unhealthy to keep them all inside so I want to try doing things to let out some of the pent up feelings.
