Question to Mr. Amano! Differences between Cafe_AVOS and real life.

Hello.
This is Mr. Amano, teacher of physical therapy at Wakasa Medical Health & Welfare School. In this final article, we will introduce the questions we received from viewers during the streaming of the interview and the teacher's answers.

The interview is also available on YouTube. Please take a look if you are interested.

Q1.Problems and improvements with AVOS

Question 1
So far you have asked about the good points of AVOS, but on the contrary, have you had any "problems" or "wish things could be better" when using AVOS?

Oooh, sharp question! I would love to hear Mr. Amano's honest opinion.

Answer 1
Mr. Amano: When we first started using AVOS, we had problems with audio on our Android phones and with entering scores for retests. However, after the (AVOS system) was updated, these problems were resolved.

I am relieved that both problems have been resolved, AVOS is evolving every day.

Mr. Amano:Also, when I was teaching in a virtual classroom, there were times when I could not see the screen (shared by the teacher) with the heads of other people's avatars because there were several people in the virtual classroom. (I thought it was very realistic, and it was very funny. happened, which I thought was very realistic and interesting (laughs). However, I think this problem can be solved with the "dashboard function*" in the new version of AVOS.

Dashboard Function Sample

*The Dashboard feature allows users to view photos, videos, and other materials uploaded in the virtual classroom side-by-side in front of each avatar.

Mr. Amano:I believe this dashboard feature will allow students to view the materials they need without anyone else interfering. Plus, they'll be able to view multiple shared screens!

Mr. Amano says with a lively voice. Before, for example, he had to copy past national exam questions and illustrations to guide his answers onto two projectors and share the screen, which was time-consuming and a bit difficult. Since the teacher is currently using the old version of AVOS, he hopes to make great use of the dashboard function after the transition to the new version.

Mr. Amano: As we use the system, we find various problems and things that we think would be better, but we give them feedback and they are improving the system. I don't know anything about the technical details of the system, so as a user, I am allowed to speak for myself (laughs).

Your candid opinions and ideas from users are our treasure! Mr. Amano, please continue to use AVOS and give us your honest opinions. Of course, we welcome the opinions of other users who are reading this article.

Q2. Differences between "Cafe_AVOS" and real life conversations

A view of Cafe_AVOS 1

*"Cafe_AVOS" is a virtual cafe space where students can ask questions to Mr. Amano anytime after 8:30pm after school. When a student asks a question via chat, the teacher will answer. This is an after-school supplementary study space that started as Mr. Amano's idea.

Answer 2
Mr. Amano:  "Cafe_AVOS" is also attended by students from home. It is extremely clerical because even if you tell a silly joke, your family may be listening (laughs).

Eh! This is an unexpected answer (laughs).

Mr. Amano:I try to explain things in a way that is easy to understand, assuming that the family is also listening. I try to teach slowly, imagining that the father or mother listening in the living room can understand (the content of the lesson) and teach it to the student.

I see, the teacher is full of kindness, but it is interesting.

Mr. Amano:The real school is quite a bit more joking. The "Cafe_AVOS" one is extremely clerical and straightforward, and speaks so clearly that even the parents think they're listening!

It's like a class visit (laughs).

Mr. Amano:If I told them that we have "Cafe_AVOS" after school, I am sure their parents would say, "If you don't understand something, ask your teacher. Many students leave school right after class because they have bus time. That way, even if there is something they don't understand, they don't have time to ask their teachers. It is also very difficult for students to ask questions by e-mail or phone.

Mr. Amano:So I want to open "Cafe_AVOS" and create a "I'm always here" situation. I'm totally fine with it because after I log in to the virtual classroom when I get home, I can cook dinner, eat, and relax while watching TV.

Mr. Amano:Of course, there are days when not a single person comes in (to Cafe_AVOS). On those days, around 10:30 p.m., I say to myself, "Well, I'm going to close now. and I turn it off by myself (laughs). (Laughs) But when the test is coming up, I get a lot of questions. I want to pick up those voices.

Friendly teacher. Viewers also commented, "Cafe_AVOS's approach is wonderful!" Mr. Amano's warm personality is evident." and "I can see the warm personality of Dr. Amano.

A word from Mr. Amano

We have enjoyed listening to Mr. Amano's warmth and humor as he explains how to use AVOS, but let us end this interview with a few words from the teacher.

Mr. Amano:I believe that AVOS will continue to develop and I would like to use it more and more. For example, we would like to do things that can only be done using AVOS, such as 3D objects. Also, since it is a virtual space, I would like to create a mechanism that allows people from far away to participate.

Mr. Amano:If not only myself, but other schools use this system, I am sure there will be more and more ways to use this or that system. I am very much looking forward to sharing this information with other schools.

Thank you very much, Mr. Amano!

At the end.

I would like to thank Mr. Amano for taking the time to share with us his valuable time and detail how he uses the virtual classroom. Thank you again.

AVOS will continue to evolve day by day to make it more enjoyable and convenient for everyone while listening to the voices of our users! Please look forward to the future of AVOS.
