What was your first overseas experience？

My family was always active in hosting foreigners back in Japan. We used to host up to 4-5 people for short periods ranging from a week to 10 days. From when I was little, we have hosted people from Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Vanuatu etc. When I was in university I participated in a 1 month language exchange program in San Francisco. I also went to Hong Kong as part of a homestay exchange program. I learned English from a young age, mainly as a subject for examinations.
