小説：ロマンシングサガ　ミンストレルソング　第5話　（アルベルト）陥落！イスマス城

（前回のあらすじ）
メルビルでジャンと会ったクローディアは、ボディガード（というよりガイド）のグレイを紹介され、二人でローバーンまで旅に出ることにした。ジャミルとともに誘拐された女性たちを探していたバーバラは、女性たちを解放した。そこで、アイシャと出会い、二人でクリスタルシティへと向かうことになった。

また、時間が1か月ほどさかのぼる。

ローザリア王国の南の守りの要であるイスマス城は、モンスターや他国の軍からローザリアを守る要塞としての機能があった。アルベルトは、城主のイスマス侯爵ルドルフの息子である。彼には頼れる姉のディアナがいた。

姉、ディアナはルドルフに報告した。

「父上、東の洞窟にモンスターがいるようです。二人で行って退治してまいります」

「二人だけか？　いかんいかん。お前もそろそろ結婚を考えなければならん年頃だ。いつまでも剣を振り回していては駄目だ。　それにアルベルトは成人の儀式を控える身だ」

「女性も戦うのがローザリアの伝統です。アルベルトには訓練が必要です。年齢だけ成人に達しても、役には立ちません」

「お前は言い出したら聞かぬからな。　おい、お前達。ディアナと一緒に行け」

アルベルト、ディアナとともに、精鋭の兵士たちがイスマス東の洞窟のモンスター討伐に向かった。

洞窟のモンスターを倒したアルベルトたちであったが、洞窟の奥に奇妙な紋章のようなものが描かれているのが気がかりだった。

「これは・・・いったい何かしら・・・まあ、モンスターはすべて退治したことだし、帰りましょう」

アルベルトたちは城へと戻った。

「洞窟のモンスター、退治してまいりました」

アルベルトとディアナは、ルドルフに報告した。

「うむ、よくやった。二人とも無事で何よりだ」

「ルドルフ様！ナイトハルト殿下がお見えになりました！」

「なに、殿下が！どうしたのであろうか」

突然のナイトハルトの来訪に、ルドルフやアルベルトたちは驚いていた。

「よくお出でくださいました、殿下。ローザリアの南の砦として、しっかり守備をしております」

「うむ。いきなりでぶしつけなのだが、そなたの娘、ディアナを我が妻に迎えたい」

ディアナは突然のことで、非常に驚いていた。

「どうだ、ルドルフ？」

「も、もちろん、私は異存ございませんが…」

「ディアナ、わたしの申し出を受けてくれるかな？」

「は、はい。よ、喜んでお受けいたします」

「正式な申し込みは後で使者をよこす。そして、アルベルトよ」

「はい、殿下」

「ローザリアの領土も広がった。ディアナも所属した薔薇騎士隊と伝統のユニコーン騎士隊だけでは、もはや守り切れない。新しい騎士隊が必要だ。お前には、そこで働いてもらいたい」

「はい、殿下。殿下のお役に立てるよう、全力を尽くします」

「では、ルドルフ、邪魔をしたな。さらばだ」

ナイトハルトはクリスタルシティへと帰っていった。ディアナの母、マリアは喜んでいた。

「なんて素晴らしい日なんでしょう。おめでとう、ディアナ。あなたは、次期王妃になるのよ」

「姉さん、おめでとう」

「わたし、まだ信じられない…」

「宴だ！宴の準備だ！」

そのころ、イスマス城の外では、何やら赤い服を着た謎の人物が、城のほうを見てほくそえんでいた。

「ふはははは・・・われらの主のため、この城の人間どもは排除する」

すると、モンスターの集団が魔術で生み出されたかのように、突然現れた。

「なんだ！？城の外から気配を感じるぞ」

ディアナは叫んだ。

「敵よ！モンスターよ！」

ディアナに呼ばれて、アルベルトは父ルドルフのいる玉座の間へと向かった。ルドルフは言った。

「モンスターの大群に襲われている。不意を突かれて危険な状態だ」

「監視所からの報告は無かったのですか？」

「まったく無かった。まるでモンスターが地面から湧いて出たかのようだ。ともかく、お前達は城を脱出してクリスタルシティへ行き、ナイトハルト殿下に救援を求めるのだ」

「父上！私もここで戦います」

「ばか者！お前たち二人まで命を失えば、われらが家系は滅びることになる。お前たち二人は早くクリスタルシティへ行け」

アルベルトとディアナの二人は、城の秘密の脱出口を案内された。兵士の一人が言った。

「ここから脱出してください」

二人は走って城から脱出したが、モンスターに発見されてしまった。

「姉さんだけでも逃げて」

「何を言うの、あなたこそ逃げなさい」

その時、巨大なドラゴンがやってきた。ディアナは心の中で思った。

「この子だけでも逃がさないと・・・私は死んでもかまわない！必ず、ナイトハルト様のところへたどり着くのよ」

ディアナはアルベルトを突き飛ばして、アルベルトは崖の下に落ちてしまった。

「うわーああああ！姉さん！」

「我こそはローザリアの薔薇騎士にてイスマス侯ルドルフが娘ディアナ。いざ、参る！」

ディアナは剣で戦おうとしたが、レッドドラゴンは火炎を吹き付けた。

ディアナは倒れてしまった。

Claudia meets Jean in Melville and is introduced to her bodyguard (or rather, guide) Gray, and the two decide to travel to Roburn together. Barbara, who was searching for the kidnapped women with Jamil, freed them. There, she met Aisha, and the two decided to head to Crystal City.

Isthmus Castle, the southern defensive center of the Kingdom of Rosalia, functioned as a fortress to protect Rosalia from monsters and the armies of other countries. Alberto is the son of Rudolph, Marquis Isthmus, the lord of the castle. He had an older sister, Deanna, whom he could rely on.

Her sister, Diana, informed Rudolph.

She said, ``Father, there seems to be a monster in the eastern cave.The two of us will go there and exterminate it.''

"Just the two of us? I don't care. You're at the age where you need to think about marriage. You can't keep swinging your sword around forever. Besides, Alberto is about to hold his coming-of-age ceremony."

"The legend of Rosalia is that women also fight. Alberto needs training. Even if he reaches adulthood, he won't be of any use."

"You won't listen if I tell you. Hey, you guys. Go with Diana."

Together with Alberto and Diana, the elite soldiers head out to defeat the monsters in the cave east of Isthmus.

Alberto and his friends defeat the monster in the cave, but they notice a strange crest-like thing drawn in the depths of the cave.

Albert and his friends returned to the castle.

"We have exterminated the monsters in the cave."

Alberto and Diana reported to Rudolph.

"Well, you did well. I'm glad that you both are safe."

"Mr. Rudolph! His Highness Neidhardt has appeared!"

"What, Your Highness! I wonder what's wrong?"

Rudolph, Albert, and others were surprised by Neidhard's sudden visit.

"Thank you very much for coming, Your Highness. As Rosalia's southern fortress, it is well defended."

Then, as if a group of monsters had been magically created, he suddenly appeared.

"What!? I can feel a presence coming from outside the castle."

Deanna shouted.

"Enemy! Monster!"

Called by his girlfriend Diana, Alberto heads to the throne room where his father Rudolph is. Rudolph said.

"We're being attacked by a horde of monsters. We've been caught off guard and are in danger."

“There was no report from the observation post?”

"There was nothing at all. It was as if a monster had sprung up from the ground. In any case, you guys should escape from the castle, go to Crystal City, and ask His Highness Neidhardt for help."

"Father! I'll fight here too."

"Idiot! If you two lose your lives, our family line will be destroyed. You two, hurry up and go to Crystal City."

Both Alberto and Diana were guided to the castle's secret escape exit. one of the soldiers said.

“Please get out of here.”

The two ran and escaped from the castle, but were discovered by a monster.

"Just run away, sister."

"What are you talking about? You should run away."

At that time, a huge dragon came. Diana thought to herself.

"If I don't let this child escape...I don't care if I die! I will definitely reach Lord Neidhardt."

Diana pushed away with Alberto, and Alberto fell down the cliff.

"Wow! Sister!"

"I am Diana, the daughter of Rudolf, the Marquis of Isthmus in Rosalia's Rose Knight. Here we come!"

The red dragon sprayed flames.

Diana collapsed.
