Professor Eswar Prasad of Cornell University put out a book in 2022 called "The Future of Money: How the Digital Revolution Is Transforming Currencies and Finance." 

In the book, 

he says digital payment will replace physical money. 

In an interview, 

he explained how and why this would happen and possible effects of the change. 

Digital payment is already popular in places like China and Sweden. 

In China, Alipay and WeChat Pay provide low-cost payment services which people use to buy almost anything. 

Prasad thinks 

digital payment 

is more convenient, 

easier to use, more secure, and cheaper than traditional forms.
