『Byobu』：スズキコウタ SOLO ALBUM 『Life Begins』 曲目解説

2023年9月録音。マーティン・デニーの曲をピアノで弾いていたら、発展して生まれたもの。タイトルはずいぶんと後になってつけたのですが、屏風に描かれる虎のようなイメージが浮かんでいました。シンセサイザーは、ほぼすべてProphet 5を使っています。

1980年代のシンセサイザーを用いて、東洋的な雰囲気を醸し出す音楽をつくるというのは、Yellow Magic Orchestraの影響ですね。どうしても私が電子音楽をつくるとなると、彼らの存在が浮かびます。

Recorded in September 2023. It evolved from playing Martin Denny's songs on the piano. I didn't come up with the title until much later, but I had an image of a tiger drawn on a "byobu" folding screen. Almost all of the synthesizers are Prophet 5.

The use of synthesizers from the 1980s to create music that exudes an oriental atmosphere is influenced by Yellow Magic Orchestra. When I think of making electronic music, I always think of them.
