New government to be sworn in on Wednesday

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will leave office after 4,454 consecutive days on Wednesday, when the new government of incoming prime minister Naftali Bennett is scheduled to be sworn in, a Likud source said on Thursday night.

ベンジャミン・ネタニヤフ首相はに4,454日連続で退陣し、ナフタリ・ベネット次期首相の新政権が発足する予定の水曜日に発足する、とリクード（イスラエルの政党）の関係者が木曜日の夜に述べた。

While Knesset Speaker Yariv Levin would like to keep Netanyahu in office as long as possible, sources acknowledged that he does not intend to fight over a few extra days in deciding when the new government will be brought to a vote of confidence in the Knesset.

Israeli opposition parties have reached an agreement to form a new government that would end Benjamin Netanyahu's 12-year tenure as prime minister.
イスラエルの野党は、ベンジャミン・ネタニヤフ首相の12年間の在任期間に終止符を打ち、新政府を樹立することで合意に達した。

Yair Lapid, leader of the centrist Yesh Atid party, announced an eight-faction coalition had been formed.Under a rotation arrangement, the head of the right-wing Yamina party, Naftali Bennett, would serve as prime minister first before handing over to Mr Lapid.
中道政党Yesh Atidの党首Yair Lapidは、8つの派閥による連立政権が成立したことを発表した。右派政党YaminaのNaftali Bennett党首が首相を務めた後、Lapid氏に引き継ぐというローテーション方式を採用する予定だ。

Mr Netanyahu, however, attacked the new "left-wing" government as "dangerous".
In a statement, Mr Lapid said he had informed President Reuven Rivlin of the agreement, adding: "I pledge that this government will work in the service of all Israeli citizens, those who voted for it and those who did not.

一方、ネタニヤフ首相は、この「左翼」新政権を「危険」と攻撃した。ラピード氏は声明の中で、ルーベン・リブリン大統領に合意内容を報告したと述べ、次のように付け加えた。「この政府は、投票した人もしなかった人も、すべてのイスラエル国民のために働くことを誓います。」と述べた。
