Western Kobe

Along with the east side of Kobe, the west side is also appealing. Away from the city, the area gives you relaxing and cozy feeling. 

Akashi Kaikyo Bridge 

The Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is, with a length of almost four kilometers, the world's longest suspension bridge. Opened in 1998, it spans the Akashi Strait (Akashi Kaikyo) between Kobe and Awaji Island and is part of the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway, one of three expressways which connect Honshu with Shikoku.

Maiko Marine Promenade

In the Maiko Marine Promenade, a circuit-style promenade you could get a special experience. The walk above sea is very thrilling and exciting that you could not have a chance in anywhere. 

Suma Beach 

Suma beach is one of the "Top 100 beaches in Japan". Every summer, eight hundred thousand people are coming here. Not only for swimming, it is good for dating spots for couples to see the beautiful sunset along the beach. 

There are a lot of restaurants and cafes along the beach in summer. Families, couples, solo swimmers, fishers are all welcomed to spend a great day in Suma. 

Suma Aqualife Park

Suma Aqualife Park in Kobe is a beloved local aquarium with a long history. The park is made up of 11 pavilions, including the main building, each with its own theme. One attraction of this aquarium that both adults and children will enjoy is the ability to feel the sea breeze. This is an interesting aquarium which helps us to think about how we can continue to develop as a society while living in harmony with nature and the environment.

If you go there at night, you could see the amazing illumination. The most popular attraction, dolphins show, is also changed to the night version. 

Suma Ura Sanjo Yuen Park

①Sumaura Koen Station
Getting off at the station, you would see the ocean on one side and mountains on the other. The local train trip to the station is very relaxing with the look over the ocean. 

②Sumaura Rope Way
3 minutes ride on the rope way will give you special view looking over the Osaka Bay and Awajishima. The leaves are seen very differently in season tp season. 

③Sumaura Sanjyo Yuen Park

There are many things to see in the park. Not only children but also adults both would enjoy the park and the view from the top.
