#07 English training

Hello. Today I will talk about Jason Mraz's "I'm yours".
This song's lyrics are below.

"you bet" is  like "of course you know" .

"crack" is a very narrow space between two things or two parts of something. 

Before the cool done run out
I'll be giving it my best-est
And nothing's going to stop me but divine intervention
I reckon it's again my turn
To win some or learn some

In this case, "the cool" means his calmness to her whom he likes. If something is "running out", that means there will soon be none left. "divine intervention" is "神の思し召し、神の介在" in Japanese. "intervention" is something like the act of becoming involved in difficult situation in order to change what happens. So something that we can't avoid because of some strong forces.(ex. government intevention to regular prices.)
"reckon" is same as guessing, thinking (spoken).

In this "learn" is "to learn with loosing". So it's his time to win the girl and have a good relationship, or learn some valuable wisdom from the experience.

He doesn't want to wait any longer to be with the girl of his dreams and wants her to see this as he sees it.

"a godforsaken place " is far away from where people live and contains nothing interesting, attractive, or cheerful. (ex. How can you stand living in this godforsaken town?)

There's no need to complicate
Our time is short
This is our fate, I'm yours

He won't hesitate to say what he feels to her or do something in love context. We don't need to over analyze or speculate anything and just live it out in the present. Because "our time is short".

I've been spending way too long checking my tongue in the mirror
And bending over backwards just to try to see it clearer
But my breath fogged up the glass
And so I drew a new face and I laughed
I guess what I been saying is there ain't no better reason
To rid yourself of vanity and just go with the seasons
It's what we aim to do
Our name is our virtue

"bend over backwards (to do something)" means to try very hard to be helpful.(ex. We bent over backwards to finish it on time.)
"fog up" is to cover something with the fog(noun:cloudy air).
"vanity" is being too much pride in ourselves. (I don't need the VANITY anytime!)
"rid somebody of something" is the convenient phrases to use.
"aim to do" is the goal someone wants to be or do.(ex. He is aiming to be a doctor.)
"virtue" is moral goodness of character and behavior or an advantage that makes something better or more useful than something else. So in this case, Our name give us a lot of power to do .
