初めまして〜大学卒業後の進路に悩んだ大学院生〜　Nice to meet you, wondering about my life after graduating college

ICU卒業後の進路について迷う

国際基督教大学（ICU）を卒業する頃、進路について悩んでいた
ICU在籍時には大学でのあるあるかもしれないが、国連やNGOで働くことを夢見ていた
しかし現実は決して簡単ではなく、自分には到底辿り着けない
そんな思いを抱きながら弁護士になろうか、などずっと彷徨っていた
そんな中である授業に出会う
憲法の授業であったが、内容は憲法を机でもしくはパソコンでカリカリ勉強しようというものではなかった
もちろん授業も憲法に関するものをするが、それが全てではない
自分でプロジェクトを準備して、対話の会や読書会などを開催し、生徒同士でディスカッションをする
そんな授業形式だった
そのなかで私は同じく授業を履修している学生と教室内における差別的発言についての対話の会を開催した
その中で私が気付かされたのは、高校から大学に上がる過程でなにかプラスαでやるべきことがあるのではないかと言うことだ
自身の哲学を持ち、それを実践することこそが大学内での教育であり、その哲学をもてない人は大学のディスカッションで自身の意見ではなく差別的発言をしてしまう（差別的発言については次回の記事で述べるとする）
そして大学に入ったことに満足し、その後の学びを十分に活かそうとしない学生が多いと言うこと
その２点に問題意識を感じ、何か自分にできないかと考えた

Wondering what I could do after graduating ICU

At the time I was about to graduate from International Christian University, I was wondering what I should be doing in the future
As I was a typical ICU student, I dreamed about working at the United Nations or other NGO agencies
But it was too hard that I stopped dreaming about it
After that, I dreamed of becoming a lawyer, but it was not for me either
During the last semester at ICU, I took a class on Japanese Constitutional Law
It was not a regular class where students just sat and listened to the lecture
However, we had a project to discuss by reading a book or watching a movie and extra
I held a discussion session with a small group of people about discrimination during the class session
I noticed that so many people are not ready for a college discussion session
Having its philosophy and discussing it is the best way to have an academic conversation, but not so many people can do it
Adding to that, it may be due to the Japanese education system but many Japanese students are satisfied after entering college and stop studying afterward 
Noticing that I started to think about what I could do to improve those issues

スクール設立？

自分なにかできないかと考えた時に塾でもなく、学校でもない新しい”スクール”を設立したいと考えるようになった
スクールとはどういうものか
それは中学生、高校生、大学生が分け隔てなく学ぶ場所である
学ぶと言っても受験や就活のためではなく、自分自身が学ぶということはどう言うことなのかを考える場である
そんなの家でやればいい、そう考える人も多いだろう
だが、実際家でできていないからこそ学校内で差別的発言をしたり大学に入って何かを学ぼうと思ったのにも関わらず何もできなくなる人がいるのではないだろうか
そのような自身の考えも踏まえてスクールの設立を考え始めた

Establishing "school"

When I thought about what I could do, I thought of establishing a "school" that is not a school but a community of junior, high, and college students
It's not for an entrance exam or job hunting 
But it is more like thinking "What is to learn"
I do understand that people would think we can do it at home
However, there is a fact that there are people who discriminate and stop studying after entering college although they have a passion
Then, I started to think about establishing a school

スクール設立のためにするべきこと

スクール設立のために自身がすべきことを考えた
まずは自身が自分の伝えたいことを教える際の技術、そして様々な教育システムを学ぶことが必要だと考えた
そのため、大学院に通うことを決意した
しかし私自身に大学院に通う上で様々な壁があり、なかなか一般的な大学院に通うことが難しかった
そこで出会ったのがUniversity of the People (UoPeople)である
UoPoeple はアメリカの通信制大学であり、日本でも時差は関係なく学ぶことができる（詳しくは大学のホームページへ）
そして、200カ国から学生が授業に参加している実績もあり、働きながらや育児をしながらも勉強できる環境である
その上大学としては珍しく、学部にもよるが約60万円で卒業できる仕組みになっている
そこで私は通うことを決意し、duolingoの英語テストを受け無事に教育学修士課程に進むことが決定した

To do for establishing "School"

I thought about what I should do to establish my own "school"
It came to my mind that I need a skill to tell what I want to and learn about many educational systems
Then, I decided to go to graduate school in the field of education
However, it was difficult for me to actually go to school and take a class
I looked for an open university and found the University of the People (UoPeople)
UoPeople is from the United States and I could learn in Japan
Adding to that, there are students from over 200 countries, and you can graduate within $60,000 depending on the field you would learn
I took the Duolingo English Test and passed all the steps for M.Ed.

ここではUoPeopleでの学びや私がスクールを設立するために考えたことを自分の思考をまとめるためにも発信していきたい
