おうち時間が増えて映画を見る機会が増えました。
京都でもコロナの感染者が増え、なかなか外出が難しくなっています。
あまりいいニュースがありませんが、
この間に自分の中にある感性を磨こうと映画など作品に触れる時間を作っています。

I come to watch movies because I have to stay at home.
We hardly go outside because the number of infected people has increased in Kyoto.
Now I don't hear good news but I made a rule to refine my tastes by watching movies.

さて、今日は最近見たおすすめ映画3選ということでご紹介させていただきます。
ゆるーい内容となっておりますが、ご了承願いします。
Today, let me introduce three recommended movies.

おすすめ映画１　グリーンブック

舞台は1962年のニューヨーク。イタリア系白人のトニーが職を探していたところ、黒人ピアニスト、ドクのツアーコンダクターとして
コンサートツアーに出る。

ドクはあえて、黒人差別が根強い南部へのツアーを決行。
人種差別を乗り越えて、2人は友情を築いていく物語。

The setting of the film is set in New York in 1962. At the time,Tony Lip, Italian White, was searching for a new job.
He found a new job to become a concert tour driver of a black pianist, Dr. Don Shirley.
Shirley decide tour in Mid West to Deep South, where racial discrimination still prevailed.
This is a friendship story by overcoming racial discrimination.

ここ最近見た中で一番美しい映画でした。
私はアジアの国しか行ったことがないので、人種差別を頭で理解していても、
実際に体験したことがありません。
映画の描写では明らかな黒人差別が描かれています。

This is the best movie which I have watched recently.
I understand what is the racial discrimination in my mind but I have never experienced it
because I have only been to Asian countries.
In this movie, racial discriminaiton is described.

その差別に耐え、自身の才能を披露するドクの覚悟と勇気に震えました。
今、人種差別が全くなくなったとは言えませんが、少しずつ状況がよくなっています。
それも、ドクのような先人の努力のもとで獲得してきたことだと
思うと胸が熱くなりました。
I was so moved to watch Shirley withstand unfair treatment and have a brave to show his talent in front of audience.
Now we cannot say discrimination dissapeared completely but the situation got better.
I realized that thanks to ancestors like Shirley we got fair treatment.

今、当たり前のものとして、享受できている権利は当たり前ではないと改めて考えるきっかけになりました。
日本でももっとマイノリティに対する理解が広がっていくように私も努めたいです。
It became a good opportunity that the rights we are enjoying do not matter of course.
I also would like to make an effort to realize the Japanese society which accepts minorities.
