日本人と海外の方が交流しています。

スポーツは世界をつなぐ。
コロナウィルスでしっちゃかめっちゃかになっているのを
忘れるぐらい盛り上がっていますね。
Sports connect the world.
The Paralympics is so exciting that we forget the state of emergency.

普段はオリンピック、パラリンピックを見ないのですが、
日本開催で時差がないこと、
おうち時間が増えたことで時々見ています。
I hardly watch the Olympics and Paralympics but
now I sometimes watch it because there is no time difference and I spend more time at home.

僕はテニスが大好きなので、車椅子テニスを見ていました。
国枝選手が2大会ぶりに金メダルを獲得して本当に良かったです。

パラリンピックを見て改めて考えさせられるのが、
思考は実現化するということです。
I like playing tennis so I watched a wheelchair tennis match.
I am glad that Kunieda won the first prize for the first time in 2 tournaments.

I learned that my ideas have become realized from the Paralympics.

きっとパラリンピック選手はどこかで大きな挫折を味わったはずです。
ハンデキャップを背負った瞬間、周りと自分を比較した瞬間。

それでも、自分が目指す姿を描き、走り続けてきたのでしょう。
おそらく私たちには想像の絶する努力を積み上げてきたのだと思います。
The Paralympics players must have experienced some failure in their life.
For example when they have a handicap or when they compare themselves to other people.

Even though they experienced some frustrations, they kept making efforts to realize their goal by drawing positive imagination in their mind.
Nobody knows how much effort they made.

私もまがいなりにもプロ野球の世界を志したことがあるので、
その厳しさ、あまりのレベルの高さに挫折したことがあります。

今まではチームのエースだったのに、
上の世界に行くと、全く歯が立たない。
井の中の蛙だったことを痛感します。
I have aimed to become a professional baseball player so I have experienced failure that practice was too hard and
the level was too high.

I was an ace-pitcher of my team but when I enter U15 national team,
my teammates were not in the same league as me.
The frog in the well knows nothing of the great ocean.
I felt that I was just a frog.

そこで「自分の実力はこんなものだ」と諦めてしまいました。
14歳の僕にはあまりにも厳しすぎる現実だったからです。

パラリンピックに限らず、今活躍している選手はきっと
僕よりも何倍もの挫折を経験してきたことでしょう。
I gave up my dream of being a professional baseball player because it was too hard a reality for 14-years-old boy.
Professional sports players must have experienced failures much more than me.
