とどかない処へ
いられた
佛さまが
今は前へも
後（うしろ）にも
一ぱい
いられる

Buddha,
who in former days
stayed beyond my reach,
now sits by my side,
anytime and anyplace,
in front of me and behind me as well.

“It is surely your multiplied devotion
that will foster your individuality.”
― Honest advice, harsh to the ear,
told to me by my strict taskmaster at my bedside
as if giving me a good scolding.
Though I found myself fading,
their words set a fire on the course of my life.
