Japanese Depopulation In Villages

A lot of people say that the Japanese city issue is the crowdedness of cities. Otherwise, rural cities have a problem with the population decreasing. Have you heard that?

During that quarter century, the population of some villages shanked by more than half. The residents getting older and younger residents left there. Many homes were overrun by wildlife, and there is a shortage of public service. This is the picture in Japan. Can you believe it? Why does such a thing occur in spite of there being so many people in Japan?

First, there is the declining birthrate in Japan. We saw about 800,000 births in Japan. It is the lowest number on record and more than half figure in 1982. A certain village had no newborn in 25 years. The village's residents getting older and they can't maintain the village themselves.

Recently, the cost of living is rising, and having a baby become too expensive for poor young people. Alternatively, Highly educated women are afraid of dropping out of society by becoming a mother. There is no social structure to support raising children.

The secondary is, most Japanese live in the urban area. More than 90% of Japanese live in urban areas like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. There are all linked by bullet train. The cities have worthwhile, high-salary jobs and high-level education. When young people in rural areas graduate high school or college, almost all of them move to the cities for seeking these attractive matters.

Now, in Japan, the government has promoted allowance and services for rising children. We hope that working women today will become working mothers tomorrow, and working men will become working fathers also.

Additionally, there are subsidiaries for immigration from Tokyo to the outland. Many young people are utilizing it and starting a business. I met many young owners during my trip to countries.
Someday, they will revive these Japanese rural cities.
Thank you.
