(guest house report 001)探しているものは、実は自分の中にあったのかもしれない ー[from Mito,guesthouse ragnarock]
※書くことのチャレンジ再開（リハビリとも言う）の一環で、プチ輪行で伺ったゲストハウスのことを描いておきます。
ゲストハウスに人は、「なぜ行くのだろう」。
大きな頭でっかちの主語が変ならば、自分は、とかあなたはでもいい。身近なところから考えたいけれど、考えれば考えるほどわからなくなっていく。
確かに料金は一般的なビジネスホテルに比べて安かったりするけれど、その分のアクセスや個人スペース、トイレ入浴の不便さは確かにある（それでもここ最近は綺麗で洗練された場所は増えている）。
この問いは、考えすぎるとゲストハウス以前に「なぜ旅に行くのか」とか、もっといえば「自分のやりたいことは何か」とかにまで変わる。主語をせっかく小さくしたのに今度はお尻が大きくなってしまったような。
結局わからないのでとりあえず、自分の中では新しいものに会いに行く、ということにしている。
自分もそんなに数を巡ったわけではないけれど、オーナーには元旅人はもちろん、武士や元素浪人やデザイナーがいたり、朝食にマクロビ食やスパイスカレーや自家製ヨーグルトチーズや和朝食が出たりする。要は出会いや新しい刺激を得るため、受けるため、だと思っていた。
時間は22時近く、予定時間ギリギリだった。
水戸駅から自転車に乗って、たどり着いたその日の宿。applewatchのナビによって、走ったことのない夜道をくねりながら見えた２階建ての建物は暗くてよく見えなかった。地元出身の建築家の住居をリノベーションした場所だということは知っていたけれど、それ以上のことはあまり調べていなかった。
敷地に入ると、アシスタントの方が自分を迎えてくれた。夜・朝の出入り方法や、お風呂の入り方を聞き、台所の使い方も丁寧に教えてくれた。
この説明を受けながら、自分はひたすらこのゲストハウスを名乗る元邸宅に目を奪われていた。
広い！ なんかセンスいい！ 窓広い、夜で外わからないけれど！ リビングにコタツある！ ていうかお客さん自分だけ！
「リビングも自由に使ってください」いいの？ もちろん綺麗に使わせていただきますが！
そんなことを心で考えながら宿泊の書類を書き、お会計を済ませて、一通り手続きが終わったあと、ふと、アシスタントの青年が自分に聞いてきた。
「今日はどちらからいらっしゃったんですか？」
今考えると、なんということもない質問だった。けれど、これが話のきっかけだった。
「東京から、自転車を持ってきたんです。仕事、ではないけれどちょっと勉強みたいな感じで茨城に来てみたんです」
……それから、なぜかいろいろなことを話していた。
30歳を過ぎてからBromptonという自転車に乗って旅に出るようになったこと。北海道や九州にも持って行ったこと。アシスタント氏が北海道出身で、就職しながら、ここのアシスタントをしていること。勤務先は東京だけれど、新型コロナの影響でリモートが続いていること。
自分が一昨年20kgのダイエットをして、一応今まで維持していること（本当は筋肉をつけたい）。秘訣を聞かれたので、トレーナーさんなど優れた人の教えを受けることと、意志に頼らず時間を無理やりでも確保して習慣にすること。
初めての海外はデンマークで、フォルケホイスコーレで生き方を学ぶプログラムに参加するためだったこと。初アジア旅はGreenzさんの生かし合うつながりツアーで、サステナブルとか多様性とかパーマカルチャーとか、新しい価値観を知るために飛び込んだこと。
今もそういう価値観に共鳴していて、旅を含めてそういう機会を探していること。
話しながら、（遅い時間なのに申し訳ないなー）と思っていた。
自分のこだわりの一つに「酔ってくだまく感じのおっさんにならない。どうせならいつもおおらかに笑ってるおっさんになりたい」があるので、長話になるとなんとかブレーキを踏もうとするのだ。
けれどそれでもなぜか話を止められなかった。何か自然に言葉や言いたいことが出てくる感じがしたのだ。アシスタントさんもその場で旅行先を調べていたから関心はあったのだと思う（あとこの方相当に「できる」のだとおもう）。
結局１時間近く話をしていたのだと思う。次の日は時間の制約もあり不在になるとのことで、案内のお礼と旅・健康を祈っておやすみなさい、といってアシスタントさんは退出した。
朝、といってもだいぶゆっくり9時近くに起きて、部屋の周りを見てわかった。
昨日話せた理由は、もしかしたらこの場所、建物が持つ力なのかもしれない。この建物が２人の意欲的なオーナーさんが知るまで残っていたこと、彼らの手によってゲストハウス として再生したことも、すばらしい聞き役のアシスタントさんがいるのも。
ラグナロック、という名前の由来はオーナーのお二方が好きだったＦＦ６というゲームの、「伝説の武器が魂を得て幻獣になったもの」だそうで。
メジャーなゲームは門外漢だけれど、「武器ラグナロクと魔石ラグナロック」のどちらかはプレイヤーが選ぶというところ、そうして変換される幻獣が敵をアイテムに変えてしまうところに、考えさせられた。
名物オーナーに会えたわけでも（アシスタントさんは非常に優秀だったと思う）、美味しいモーニングがあったわけではないけれど、この場所が、自分の中にある何かを引き出して変えてしまう、のかもしれない。
次に伺う時には、自分にさらなる積み重ねができていることを願って、出会いに感謝を。

If the subject with a big head is strange, you can be yourself or you. I want to think from a familiar place, but the more I think about it, the less I understand.
Certainly, the price is cheaper than that of a general business hotel, but there are certainly inconveniences of access, personal space, and toilet bathing (still, the number of beautiful and sophisticated places is increasing these days). ..
If you think too much about this question, it will change to "Why go on a trip" before the guesthouse, or even "What do you want to do?" Even though I made the subject smaller, it seems that my butt has become bigger this time.
After all, I don't know, so for the time being, I'm going to meet something new.
I haven't gotten so many, but the owners include not only ex-travelers, but also samurai, elemental wanderers, and designers, and breakfast includes macrobiotic food, spice curry, homemade yogurt cheese, and Japanese breakfast. I thought it was to meet and receive new stimuli.
The time was close to 22:00, and the scheduled time was just around the corner.
The inn of the day that I arrived at by riding a bicycle from Mito Station. The two-story building that I could see while winding the night road that I had never run by the navigation of apple watch was dark and I could not see it well. I knew it was a renovation of a local architect's residence, but I didn't look much further.
When I entered the site, an assistant welcomed me. He asked me how to get in and out of the kitchen at night and in the morning, how to take a bath, and taught me how to use the kitchen.
While receiving this explanation, I was fascinated by the former mansion that claimed to be this guesthouse.
wide! Somehow good sense! The windows are wide, I don't know at night! There is a kotatsu in the living room! I mean, only the customer himself!
Is it okay to use the living room freely? Of course, I will use it neatly!
With that in mind, I wrote down the accommodation documents, made the payment, and after completing all the procedures, the assistant young man suddenly asked me.
"Where are you from today?"
When I think about it now, it was a trivial question. But this was the beginning of the story.
"I brought a bicycle from Tokyo. It wasn't work, but I came to Ibaraki with a feeling of studying."
...... Then, for some reason, I was talking about various things.
After I was 30 years old, I started to travel on a bicycle called Brompton. I brought it to Hokkaido and Kyushu. Mr. Assistant is from Hokkaido and is working as an assistant here while getting a job. I work in Tokyo, but the remoteness continues due to the influence of the new Corona.
I've been on a 20kg diet two years ago and have maintained it until now (I really want to build muscle). Since I was asked the secret, I would like to receive the teachings of excellent people such as trainers, and to make it a habit by forcibly securing time without relying on my will.
My first time abroad was in Denmark to participate in a program to learn how to live at Folk High School. The first trip to Asia was a connected tour that made the best use of Mr. Greenz, and he jumped in to learn about sustainability, diversity, permaculture, and new values.
I still resonate with those values and am looking for such opportunities, including traveling.
While talking, I thought (I'm sorry for the late time).
One of my commitments is "I don't want to be a drunken old man. I want to be an old man who is always laughing loosely", so when it comes to long stories, I try to brake.
But I still couldn't stop talking for some reason. I felt that something naturally came out of words and things I wanted to say. I think the assistant was also interested because he was looking up the travel destination on the spot (I think he can do it as well).
I think I was talking for almost an hour after all. The next day, I was absent due to time constraints, so the assistant left, saying thank you for the guidance and praying for your trip and health.
In the morning, I woke up very slowly around 9 o'clock and looked around the room to find out. The reason I talked about yesterday may be the power of this place and the building. The building has been reborn as a guesthouse, and there is a wonderful listening assistant.
The origin of the name Laguna Rock is said to be "a legendary weapon that gained a soul and became a phantom beast" in a game called FF6 that the two owners liked.

Although the major game is an outsider, I was made to think that the player chooses either "Weapon Ragnarok or Magic Stone Ragnarok", and the phantom beast that is converted in that way turns the enemy into an item. ..
Even though I met the famous owner (I think the assistant was very good), I didn't have a delicious morning, but this place may bring out something inside me and change it.
The next time I visit, I hope that I can build up more and thank you for the encounter.
