YUNGBLUD『Happier』

先日、最近の日常での様々な出来事を雑記形式にまとめました。

この中で触れたのですが、今週になってYUNGBLUDというアーティストにハマりました。
名前だけはBring Me The Horizonの曲で知っていましたが、ちゃんと聴こうと思ったのは本当に最近になってから。
再びBring Me The Horizonとコラボした新曲が発表されたのと、来月行われるフェスにYUNGBLUDも参加するからです。

ということで、今回はそんなYUNGBLUDにハマるきっかけになった楽曲『Happier』について。
好きすぎて何度もリピートして聴いています。

YUNGBLUD『Happier』

『Happier』はつい先日配信が開始されたばかりのYUNGBLUDの新曲です。
Bring Me The Horizonのフロントマンであるオリヴァー・サイクスとのコラボ曲となっています。
僕は元々Bring Me The Horizonが好きだったのでこの曲を知りましたが、実際に聴いたところ見事にハマってしまいました。

『Happier』はパワフルで疾走感のあるサウンドと、エモーショナルな歌詞が印象的な楽曲です。
僕はそんなに英語力がないため聴いただけのサウンドの印象で好きになりましたが、実際に歌詞を読むと中々に刺さりましたね。
実にエモーショナルですし、歌詞の内容を知ってからきくとまた一段と良さが伝わりますね。

YUNGBLUDは来月の「NEX_FEST」に参加することが決まっており、Bring Me The Horizonとのコラボ曲であるこの『Happier』は生で聴ける気がしています。
YUNGBLUDを好きになったきっかけの曲ですし、本当に楽しみですね。

まとめ

こんな感じで、YUNGBLUDの『Happier』の紹介でした。
この曲は本当に好きでリピート再生が止まりません。
また、YUNGBLUDはイギリス出身ということですが、気づけば僕自身が好きになるミュージシャンってイギリス出身が多いかもしれません。
それこそ中学生の頃にハマったBustedもそうですし、昨年より好きになったBring Me The Horizonもそうです。
この辺りは何かしら言語化できそうなので、この「スキ」の根源を探ってみたいと思います。
