Your Favorite Enemies『THE MESSENGER』

こんにちは。
どうも、けこぜろです。

台風が去ってから少し涼しくなりましたね。
日中の気温は相変わらず高めではあるのですが、朝の空気が変わった気がしています。
朝が涼しいと何だか走りたくなりますね。
前回は3ヶ月前に走りましたが、涼しいとかつて運動していた時のことを思い出して走りたくなるのです。

ランニングといえば、いつも音楽を聴きながら走っていました。
外の環境音を聴きながら走るのはつまらないので、少しでもテンションが上がるような音楽を聴いています。
大体ロックを聴いていましたが、ゲームのサントラとかも走る時のBGMとして優れていましたね。
昔プレイしたゲームのサントラとか懐かしくていい感じでした。
改めて聴いてもいいものですし、昔よく聴いていた曲と再会できると嬉しい気持ちになりますね。

ということで、今回はそんな昔よく遊んだゲームの音楽について。
高校時代にPSPでたくさん遊んでいた『DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY』の楽曲です。

Your Favorite Enemies『THE MESSENGER』

『THE MESSENGER』は『DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY』のサウンドトラックの最後に収録されているボーナストラックです。
ボーカル付きの楽曲となっており、歌っているのはカナダ出身のバンドであるYour Favorite Enemies。
ゲーム内では『Cosmos』『Chaos -Last Battle-』の2曲を歌っていました。
前者は落ち着いた綺麗な曲で、何処か悲しげな雰囲気もある楽曲です。
後者は静かに始まるものの、曲の進行に合わせてどんどん激しくなっていくのが印象的な楽曲でした。

そして『DISSIDIA FINAL FANTASY』のサントラのボーナストラックとして収録されていたのが『THE MESSENGER』。
『Cosmos』と『Chaos -Last Battle-』を合体させたロックな曲となっており、1番は『Chaos -Last Battle-』、2番は『Cosmos』の歌詞となっていましたね。
初めて聴いた時はあまりのかっこよさに衝撃を受け、英語の歌詞を覚えるくらいに聴きまくってしまいました。
『Cosmos』と『Chaos -Last Battle-』の2曲とも好きでしたし、これらを合わせた楽曲というだけでもう最高です。
この当時好きでよく聴いていましたね。

こんな感じで、かつて好きでよく聴いていたゲーム音楽『THE MESSENGER』の紹介でした。
高校生だった当時遊びに遊びまくっていたゲームですし、サントラも購入して聴きまくっていました。
今改めて聴くと非常に懐かしい気持ちになりますし、その昔好きだった曲は今も変わらず好きでしたね。
