ちょこっと英語日記【新入社員はオンライン研修を受けるんだってさ。の巻】

１、先ずは日本語で。

今年度、私の部署に新入社員が２人入ってきてん。
こんなご時世やから、新入社員研修は当分自宅のオンライン研修になるんやって。
当然、毎年のようにやってた新入社員歓迎会も自粛やし、こんなこと２ヶ月前は想像もしてへんかったな。。。
在宅勤務をしてる人も増えてきてるし、時代の節目でもあると思うねん。
そんな時に何が必要か。
誰も見ていないところできっちり時間を決めて仕事して、それをアピールすることが大切やと思うねん。
誰も見てへんかっても、自分自身は見てるんやからさ！

■こんなご時世やから〜：ってなんて言おうかな。

This year, we have two new employees in my department.
They took an online induction course because of the virus outbreak.
Not surprisingly, we refrained from the annual welcome party, and I didn’t see this situation coming two months ago.
People who work at home are increasing, and I feel like this is the turning point of our time.
What should we do?
In my opinion, we have to work and study so we can spend our time productively, even if our bosses don’t supervise us.
We need to give valuable results.
That way, we're responsible enough to look for ourselves instead of depending on our bosses.

３、ネイティブ先生のお返事。

Very good, but I would just change the very end to the following:
"That way, we're responsible enough to look *out* for ourselves instead of depending on our bosses."

監督する。管理する。

■ refrained from〜
控える。自粛する。
e.g) refrained from comment：コメントを控える。
