英語で読む「IETF 103」
IETFは言わずとしれたインターネットの標準化における最も権威のあるタスクフォース。前の職場で標準化に関わる仕事をしている同僚がいて、ちょっと興味を持ったのでYouTubeでIETFのチャンネル登録をしていたら、11/3から始まるバンコクでの動画が再生リストに次々と流れてきた。
IETFは、初めて参加する人のためのページを用意している。この慣習はJANOGなどでも踏襲されている。

YouTubeで用意したから、そっちを見ろと。でも、これ１時間もあって全部を見るのは大変。
Many of the IETF attendees will have colored dots on their badges showing that they are part of one of the groups below. Explanations of the dots and an IETF intro can be found in the Tao of the IETF, A Novice's Guide to the Internet Engineering Task Force.
参加者は、こんな感じのバッジをつける。IAOCとかLLCといった略語が多いが、これらはTao of IETFというページで紹介されている。
The Internet Society is an international, non-profit, membership organization that fosters the expansion of the Internet. One of the ways that ISOC does this is through financial and legal support of the other "I" groups described here, particularly the IETF. ISOC provides insurance coverage for many of the people holding leadership positions in the IETF process and acts as a public relations channel for the times that one of the "I" groups wants to say something to the press. The ISOC is one of the major unsung heroes of the Internet.
Internet Society(ISOC)が最も上位にあって、ヒエラルキーが紹介されているが、文章だけで理解するのは大変なので画像検索してみたら、Tech-inviteに、ちょうどいい図があった。
実際に技術を牽引しているのはIESGなので、ここでの議論を追いかけることになる。IETF 103の議論は、ここにアップされる。
まだ開催期間中なので資料が揃ってないが、終了する頃には前回のIETF 102のように、ぎっしりと埋め尽くされることだろう。
