Ibusuki 指宿

There a few sand baths in Japan and during my Kyushu trip in 2017 i went to Ibusuki which had one of the more famous sand bath resorts.

I had a JR Kyushu and took advantage of it to take the special IBUSUKI NO TAMATEBAKO train from Kagoshima ( I was staying in Kagoshima at that time). Its a special one stop train and its around 50 minutes. Ibusuki is a quiet town and its around 10 minutes walk to the Ibusuki Natural Sand Bath Center Saraku.

After you get dressed in your Yutaka , you will go the sands area where you get buried in naturally heated sands for 10 to 20 minutes. Quite a sweaty experience and the staff will help you take photos lol

Kyushu is a hot springs area so there are plenty of different kinds of hot springs to try like the hot sands here in Ibusuki.
