Abstract
In 2018, 1843 magazine mentioned that the Japanese people got the least sleep, spending an average of a little over 6 hours 15 minutes in bed each night from the app Sleep cycle. They also reveal, South Korea was second, next were Saudi Arabia, the Philippines and Malaysia.
On the other hand, a 2016 study from another app indicated that Singapore was the most sleep-deprived, and Japan was second.
Some say such a sleep problem is correlated with their countries’ working cultures.
Research since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic has also found that stress from pandemic may be causing an increase in insomnia. The US Sleep Foundation says we shouldn’t have caffeine or alcohol late in the day. In addition, we should try to go to bed and get up at the same time every day, even on weekends, and put away phones and other devices at least half an hour before bed.

What are your thoughts on the findings of these studies?

I think such data regarding sleeping would have a possibility to fluctuate due to where the data comes from. However, I guess it is true that the Japanese people tend to be sleep-deprived because Japan is nominated in most of the research regarding sleep-deprived.
But, I thought it would actually be difficult to do such recommendations which is in the article.
Because I want to sleep as long as possible on my day off and there are lots of interesting things on social media and so on. I would like to know how to get good sleep except for in such fundamental ways.
