Abstract
After Russia started to invade Ukraine on February 24, The sanctions against Russia from all over the world have been increasing.
It is not only taking economic sanctions, but also suspended from sports and entertainment.
Due to the sanctions, the Russian ruble dropped to a record low of 105.27 per dollar on Monday. However, the US and EU have still maintained the oil and gas trade with Russia.
Do you think Putin is likely to change his strategy because of Western sanctions?
I don’t think the president’s mind will change due to Western sanctions. Because he could foresee such reactions from Western countries before he had started invasion.
I think Western countries' economic sanctions will be valid to protect Ukraine in the medium and long run. However, I am also worried that it also invites the distress of Russian citizens.
I believe that many citizens don’t hope for war. It is also the same Russian citizens as Ukraine.
I really hope such a meaningless conflict will be over as soon as possible.
