Why a sparrow died?

My house is in a residential area. There are no big trees around here. I feed wild birds every morning during the winter. Sparrows like my tiny garden.

Yesterday morning, I found some feathers under the tree. When I looked closely, I saw a dead sparrow stuck in branches of the tree, 1.8m high. I felt sorry for the dead sparrow and buried it in the garden. I offered flowers and incense. I was depressed.

I was wondering why the sparrow died. The sparrow's body seemed in good condition, it didn't like it had died of natural causes. Snakes are not active in winter. Cats don't leave their prey in trees.

The next day, I fed the wild birds as usual. Usually about 30 birds come, but only 10 came.
I watched it for a while. Suddenly, a rather large bird, about the size of a pigeon, descended from the sky towards the flock of sparrows. The bird was moving so fast that I couldn't see it clearly. What was that? The sparrows quickly ran away. I think It was a peregrine falcon.  I was so surprised. The falcon immediately noticed me and left.

I found out why the sparrow was killed yesterday.

It was an impressive incident.
