↑ 能古島（福岡市）から　↑ From Noko Island (Fukuoka City)

人々の足音が皆一語ずつの言葉に聞こえ聞き入っている
     As each footstep
     Sounds like a word, I listen
     To them intently
 
喫茶店の客たちが急に真っ白な煙になって姿を消した
     All the people
     In the café vanished,
     Becoming white smoke
 
螺旋状の体になって人々がびよんびよんと跳ねている町
     As their bodies have got
     Spiral like a spring, the people
     In the town go, bouncing
 
私は誰かが見ている虹の上へふわっと降りたがふるい落とされた　　　　　　　　
     I descended softly
     On a rainbow which others see,
     But it shook me off
 
耳の穴に鍵を差し込み何回か回すと彼は動き始める
     Insert the key
     Into the ear and wind it, then
     He begins to move
 
真っ直ぐに伸びたり元に戻ったりしながら腹筋しているバナナ
     The banana
     Is doing sit-ups, getting
     Straight and bending
 
歯車のようにまわりがぎざぎざの月が出ていて回転している
     The moon has got
     Serrate like a gear, and it
     Is now turning
 
文字たちの一つ一つに羽根が生え昆虫のように飛び交っている 　　　　　1
     All the letters have
     Got wings and are now flying
     Around like insects
 
魚になる予感がすると人々は水辺に行ってその時を待つ 　　　　　　　　　
     When people have a hunch
     They are going to be fish, they
     Go to the waterside
 
三日月が翼を拡げばさばさと羽ばたきながら近づいてくる 
     The crescent has
     Got wings. Flapping them, it
     Draws near to us
 
ひまわりの群が空から降り立ってあたり一面ひまわり畑
     Covering the ground
     With sunflowers, a flock of
     Sunflowers alighted
