庶民が唯一AIの恩恵に預かれる機能は「翻訳」だ！

　今週号のNewsweek日本版の特集「AI時代の英語学習」が、ちょっと面白い。
　コンピューターによる翻訳の現状についてのレポート。

　私は常々「すぐAIって言うな運動」を続けている。
　AIの恩恵を実感できるのは遠い未来だ。
　「AIは人間が行っている仕事の半分を奪う」とか、ありえないし。
　仮にあったとしても、それはAIが導入できる超大企業の、しかも極一部の仕事だけ。

　そして、少子化による人出不足は加速するにも関わらず、その穴埋めとしてAIは機能せず、移民が増えるのみ。

　ただし、唯一、庶民がAIの恩恵を、すぐにでも受けられるそうなものがある。
　それは「翻訳」。
　ネット上での翻訳は昔から存在するが、誤訳ばかりで使えないという印象。
　ところが、Newsweekの記事によると、2016年あたりから、AIの発達により急速に精度が上がっているという。
　もし記事が本当なら、メチャクチャうれしい。

　ただし、誤訳が０％というわけにはいかず、特に日本語から英語にする場合は、きちんと主語・述語を明確にした文章にするよう心掛ける必要があるらしい。
