ジミヘンがクラプトンにチューニングを頼んでさ(笑)とマッカートニー1967

1967年6月4日 サヴィル劇場 / Saville Theatre London
The Beatles８枚目のアルバムSgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band発売直後、ジミ・ヘンドリックスはライブ演奏した。そこにはポール・マッカートニー、ジョン・レノン、ジョージ・ハリスン、リンゴ・スター、そしてエリック・クラプトンもいた。

"Sgt.Pepper"を金曜（実際は木曜日）にリリースして、その２日後の日曜日にジミ（ヘンドリックス）が耳コピしてプレイしたんだよ。それも凄いバージョンでね。でも、彼はギターにビグスビー・アーム（☆）を付けててさ。
《MC「ワミー・バーですか？」》
そう、ワミー・バー。で、《ギュイーン、ギュイーン》って鳴らして、ボクたちは『ワオ！すげー！すげー！』って。でも気づいたんだ『チューニングがズレてる』って。当時は、アームでギュンギュン演るとズレたんだよ。
でさ、１曲目なわけ。で、ボクたち『どうするんだろ？』って見てたんだ。
すると、ジミはエリック（クラプトン）を探し始めて『エリックっている？』でね、エリックはそこにいたの。でも、隠れてた。こんな風に(笑)。
ジミ、エリックを見つけて『ステージに来てチューニングしてくれない？』って言ったの。
《MC「クラプトンは、チューニングしたの？」》
しなかった。

We released "Sgt.Pepper" on a Friday, 2 days later（★） on the Sunday he'd learned it, and he played it. And he played a great version of it. But he had this vibrator on, you know the bigsby arm on the guitar.
《THE WHAMMY BAR?》
The Whammy bar. And he's going( whooing noise),and we're going, " Whoa. Great. Great ! But we know now he's out of tune!
《Because you are stretching the strings.》
You stretch the strings and in those days that would send you out of the tune.
So it's his first number. So We're looking,
" What's he's gonna do?"  
So, he starts looking for Eric Clapton in the audience, and he sys
"Is Eric out there, man?"
But Eric is there, but Eric is hiding (Hiding & Whistling)
Jimi spots him " Hey man, would you come up here and tune this thing for me?"
