As I said “to present alternately old and late”, I take this work which have in common with the piece in my precedent article “Circle of Time” (2001).
This is the piece that I expressed multiple time axis, and both have common characteristic such as a bass drum divides time sections. The difference is, “Circle of Time” never have bar and the conductor gives only cues, therefore each player has his/her own tempo and it makes the “multiple time axis” naturally. On the other hand, this “Riva dell’ora (Shore of Time)” does not have cue giving and it has traditional bars with multi-layered complex multiplets, and it makes “pseudo” multiple time axis, however it is controlled by conductor as traditional way. Nevertheless, it obtains the points of collective time as waves which come to the seashore.

前回の投稿で過去作と近作を交互に紹介すると書いたので、どうせなら共通点を持った作品を取り上げたいと思います。
この作品は2001年の「時の環」と共通する多層的な時間軸の表現を追求した曲で、大太鼓で時間のセクションを区切るなどの共通した構造を持っています。異なる点は、「時の環」では一切の小節線を廃止して指揮者はキューだけを出し、テンポは各奏者に任せられることによって自然に「多層的な時間軸」が成り立っていたのに対し、本作「時の渚」ではキュー出しは一切なく従来的な小節線を用いており、そこに不合理音価が重なることにより、擬似的に「多層的な時間軸」の表現を得ているものの、実際には指揮者によって統一された一つの時間軸が存在します。しかしながらそれによって、波打ち際に次々と打ち寄せるような時間の集合点が得られています。
