At Takram, we are currently primarily working remotely. In this series, we take a look at how Takram's members are designing their work style and life.
Naomi Furuichi
大学卒業後、6年間税理士事務所勤務。渡英後、人材派遣事務所の経理部門での勤務を経て、2019年Takram Londonに入社。スタジオマネジメントとアカウンティングを担当。
After graduating from university, Naomi worked in an accountant firm for six years. After moving to the UK, she worked in the accounting department of a recruitment agency before joining Takram London in 2019. She is responsible for studio management and accounting.
What led you to design（Takram)?
渡英後、当時働いていた会社を子育てを機に一度退職しました。その後、経理のスキルアップのための勉強期間を経て、前職の紹介でTakramへ入社しました。
現在はロンドンオフィスのアカウンティングをメインに担当しています。
また、ロンドンオフィスは牛込さんと私以外は英語話者ため、情報格差がでないよう、社内で日本語のみでシェアされている情報については注意してウォッチしています。時差の関係もあるため東京オフィスとの同期的なコミュニケーションは限定的ですが、ロンドンと東京のメンバーが、距離はあっても温度差なく、一緒に仕事をできる環境のサポートを心がけています。今後はロンドンの状況も積極的に東京メンバーに知ってもらえるといいですね。
After moving to the U.K., I resigned from the company I was working for to raise my children. After studying to improve my accounting skills, I joined Takram through an introduction from my former employer.
I am mainly in charge of accounting for the London office.
All London office members are local except Mr. Ushigome and me, so I carefully watch and take care of information that is shared only in Japanese to avoid information gaps. Although synchronous communication with the Tokyo office is limited due to the time difference, Mr. Ushigome and I try to create an environment where members in London and Tokyo can work together without enthusiasm gaps despite the distance. In the future, I hope to actively let Tokyo members know about the situation in London as well.
How do you design your working style?
転職後、ほどなくしてパンデミックが起きたため、今までに経験したことのない環境下でのキャッチアップとなり、そこについては戸惑う部分も多かったと記憶しています。本来であれば、ひとりひとり顔を合わせて、お互いを知るための時間を持つことができますが、そういったことが自然にはできない分、毎週のミーティングだけではなく、オンラインでゲームや雑談などの場をセットし、積極的にメンバーとのコミュニケーションを心がけていました。
幸い、ロンドンオフィスはまだ規模も小さいので、メンバーと打ち解けるのにそこまで時間はかかりませんでした。今は一緒に軽食を取りながらミーティングをしたり、クリスマスパーティーを開催するなど少人数ならではのコミュニケーションを楽しんでいます。
Because the pandemic occurred shortly after I changed jobs, I had to learn the new job in an environment that I had never experienced before. I remember that there was a lot of confusion about it. I would have had time to meet members face to face and get to know each other in ordinary circumstances. Since I did not have enough time for such activities, I made an effort to actively communicate with my members, not only at weekly meetings but also by creating opportunities for online games and chats.
Fortunately, the London office is not so large, it did not take me that long to get to know the members. Now we enjoy the communication that only a small group can have, such as holding meetings over a light meal together or a Christmas party.
What is your particular workspace?
静かな環境であればどこでも仕事できるタイプなので、リモート環境に変化した後も自宅に特別設備を整えたりはしていません。
ロックダウンのタイミングで娘もリモートでの学習環境を余儀なくされたため、当時はダイニングテーブルの端と端で、娘は勉強、私は仕事をしながら一緒に集中する時間を過ごしていました。
あとは昔からの習慣なのですが、ノートとペンは仕事中は常に横に置いています。今ではPC内で完結するため全く使わないのですが、置いてあるだけでお守り的な存在というか、私の中では仕事環境へスイッチするための風景となっています。
I am the type of person who can work anywhere as long as it is a quiet environment, so I did not make any special arrangements at home after the change to remote work.
Since my daughter was also forced to be in a remote learning environment during the lockdown, we spent our time focusing together, her studying at the end of the dining room table and me working at the other.
Also, it is my old habit, but I always keep my notebook and pen next to me while I work. I don't use them at all now because I can complete my work on my PC. However, just keeping them at hand provides me with emotional support, or in my opinion, one of the factors to switching to my work environment.
What is a book you would recommend?
Takramでは、メンバーの学びを全面的にバックアップするために「Book Purchase」という制度があり、自由に書籍を購入することができます。他のメンバーがどんな本を買っているのかをSlackチャンネルで全員が見ることができ、その時の興味関心を垣間見ることができます。
At Takram, we have a "Book Purchase" system to fully support our members, allowing them to freely purchase books. All members can see what books other members are buying on our Slack channel and get a glimpse of their interests at the time.
日本にいる友人が送ってくれた『置かれた場所で咲きなさい』という本をおすすめします。ごくごく、当たり前のことが書いてあるのですが、はっと気付かされることが多く心が軽くなる一冊でした。普段、本を選ぶ際は、ロンドンに在住している日本人の個人間での本の譲渡サービスを利用したり、Takramではみんなが購入した本がSlackに流れてくるので、それ自体がTakram選書コーナーのようになっており、そこから読みたい本をピックしています。
I recommend the book "Okareta Basho de Sakinasai" (Bloom where God has planted you) that a friend in Japan sent me.
The book says very obvious things, but I had aha moments and felt relieved in many ways. When I choose a book, I use a book transfer service between Japanese individuals living in London. In addition, at Takram we can see the titles of the books purchased by the members through the "Book Purchase" system in the Slack channel, so the channel itself is like the Takram library, and I can choose books to read from there.
What interests you now？
天気がいい日は散歩したり、自然と触れ合う時間を大切にしています。ロンドンは公園が多いので気軽にそういった環境と触れられることは魅力的です。
On sunny days, I take walks and spend time in contact with nature. London has many parks, so it is very attractive for me to be able to get in touch with such an environment easily.
また、お菓子づくりを楽しむことも多いです。最近は娘も大きくなったので一緒にキッチンに立つことも増えました。日本で食べたお菓子の味を思い出しながら作ったり、ロンドンの伝統的なお菓子を現地のレシピでつくったり、その時々で作り分けながら楽しんでいます。以前、シュークリームをつくってオフィスに持って行ったこともありましたね。
I often enjoy making sweets. Recently, my daughter has grown up, and I have been in the kitchen with her more often. I enjoy making different kinds of sweets at different times, such as making sweets while remembering the tastes of sweets I had in Japan, or making traditional London sweets with local recipes. I once made cream puffs and brought them to the office
What do you like about Takram?
正直、Takramを紹介されて面接を受ける前はホームページをみて身構えてたんです。なんかすごい人がいっぱいいるなーと笑。実際会ってみると、オープンな人が多く、心地のよさをとても感じています。
小さなことかもしれませんが、やりとりをする際の言葉の選び方や配慮ができるメンバーが多く、それが心地よさを作っているように思います。あとはよい意味で「子どもっぽさ」というのでしょうか。忙しい中でも、常にピュアに仕事を楽しんでいるメンバーが多く、ポジティブなエネルギーをもらえるところも好きですね。
To be honest, I was a bit defensive when I saw the website until I had an interview at Takram. I thought, "What a great company and full of tremendous people!” When I met Takram members, I found many of them to be open and felt very comfortable.
It may be a small thing, but I think that many members can choose their words and take care when communicating with each other, and this attitude creates a cozy atmosphere. I would also call it "having a child's mind" in a good sense. I like Takram because many members always enjoy their work purely, even amid a busy schedule, and I get positive energy from them.

今回もロンドンオフィスからお届けしました。日々メンバーを支えてくれているNaomiさん。取材から感じるNaomiさんの温かさや、メンバーへのリスペクト。こういう人が日々のTakramを支えてくれているんだなと改めて感じた取材でした。Naomiさん、お忙しい中取材対応いただきありがとうございました。
Takramは現在約50名ほどの小さい会社ではありますが、海外にもロンドン、ニューヨーク、上海に拠点を持っています。各拠点の規模はまだ小さいながら、さまざまな文化圏の視点をもって、ビジネスやブランドを構築していけることはTakramの大きな強みのひとつです。またメンバーの多様性という視点でも海外拠点は、今後大きな役割を担っていくことになるでしょう。
「多様性」という観点ではTakramもまだまだ課題があるのが現状ですが、「まずはできるところから始めていこう」ということでTakramでは下記の取り組みを行なっています
1) 面接評価者の多様性の担保
以前は、シニアメンバーのみで評価を行なっており、結果的に評価者がすべて男性になってしまうケースがありましたが、年代や性別を可能な限り異なるメンバーで構成するよう変更しました。
2) Value面接の導入
以前はスキルの確認を中心に行なっていましたが、いかなる属性であってもTakramness（Takramメンバーとして共通する価値観）を持っているか確認するためのステップを追加しました。
今後も、多様性のある組織を目指すために試行錯誤を続けていきたいと思っています。
