WSJ Minute Briefing - FBI Searches Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Home in Document Probe

Here's your morning brief for Tuesday August 9th. I'm Keith Collins for the Wall Street Journal.

Former president Donald Trump says FBI agents conducted what he called an unannounced raid on his Mar-A-Lago home in Palm Beach Florida. Sources say the search is part of an investigation into Trump's handling of classified information. Trump says that after working and cooperating with the relevant government authorities, the search was not necessary or appropriate. FBI Representatives didn't immediately respond to request for comment, and justice department spokeswoman declined to comment. 

ドナルド・トランプ前大統領は、FBI捜査官がフロリダ州パームビーチのマー・ア・ラゴの自宅に対して抜き打ちの家宅捜索を行ったと述べた。情報筋によると、この捜索はトランプ氏の機密情報の取り扱いに関する調査の一部だという。トランプ氏は、関係政府当局と連携・協力した結果、捜索は不必要で不適切だったとしている。FBI代表はコメントの要請にすぐには応じず、司法省の広報担当者はコメントを控えた。 

Russia says it won't support the resumption of US inspections of its nuclear arsenal, because of travel restrictions imposed by Washington over the invasion of Ukraine. Weapons inspections under the new start nuclear arms treaty were paused in 2020, because of the covid-19 pandemic. Moscow says that it's still committed to adhering to the treaty, and that its decision to halt inspections is temporary. The US didn't directly respond to the Russian statement that says that restarting the inspections is important. 

ロシアは、ウクライナ侵攻をめぐりアメリカ側が課した渡航制限を理由に、米国の核兵器査察の再開を支持しないとしている。新開始核兵器禁止条約に基づく兵器査察は、Covid-19のパンデミックのため、2020年に一時停止された。ロシア側は条約を遵守することに変わりはなく、査察の停止は一時的なものだと言っている。米国は、査察再開が重要だとするロシアの声明に直接反応しなかった。 

American Airlines says it expects to receive its first delivery of a Boeing 787 dreamliner since April 2021 as soon as Wednesday. American is said to be the first customer to receive a new 787, after a long pause in deliveries. It comes after aviation safety regulator said Boeing took the necessary steps to pave the way for the deliveries to resume. 

アメリカン航空は、早ければ水曜日にも2021年4月以来となるボーイング787ドリームライナーの納入を受ける見込みだという。同航空は、長い納入の休止を経て、新しい787を受け取る最初の顧客となると言われている。航空安全規制当局が、ボーイングは納入再開への道を開くために必要な措置を講じたと発表した後のことだ。 

Markets in Asia ended mixed, and European shares were mainly down in early trading. In the US, investors will be watching data on productivity and labor costs, do out this morning, and Coinbase, Peloton and Roblox are among the companies set to report earnings today. 

アジアの市場はまちまちで、欧州の株式は主に取引開始時に下落。米国では、投資家は今朝発表される生産性と労働コストのデータに注目し、コインベース、ペロトン、ロブロックスなど、今日決算を発表する予定の企業もある。
