チャイペチャーチャ / Chai pe charcha 1

今月のカルチュラルエクスチェンジは、チャイペチャーチャ。
インドでは大切な話は、紅茶やコーヒーではなく、チャイを飲みながらするという話はリーパさんから。
そして、インドでは、甘い紅茶と辛いスナックが好まれるという話はヨギさんから。
そんなわけで、今月はチャイペチャーチャとなりました。
ホームメイドのチャイでインド式ティータイムを楽しみながら、なんでも話そう！という会です。

3人のママさんたちが、それぞれの手作りマサラを持ち寄って、それぞれ少しずつ味の違うチャイを作ってくれました。
チャイの違いの話は次回また。
チャイとサモサは、とってもグローバルでした。日本人も、ベトナム人も、韓国人もチャイがあると、よく話す！チャイの力は、すごかった。

チャイもすごいけど、子どもたちもグローバル。初めて出会った日本とベトナムの子ども、４歳。少し時間がすぎたら、仲よく遊んでました。生まれて数ヶ月のベトナムの赤ちゃんは、日本人に抱かれてもインド人に抱かれても平気のへっちゃら。子どもは、すごい！

そして、参加者のみなさんの、「参加力」も、すごいのです。準備も片付けも、参加者のみなさんが率先してやってくれました。ありがとう！
というわけで、ボランティアのママさんたちと、チャイと、サモサと、子どもたちと、参加者のみなさんのおかげで今月も楽しい時間となりました。

The theme of this month's Cultural Exchange was Chai Pe Charcha.
We heard from Leepa that in India often important conversations are held over a cup of chai.
And Yogi told us that in India, sweet tea and spicy snacks are preferred.
That is why this month we had Chai Pe Charcha.
Let's talk about anything and everything while enjoying Indian-style tea time with home-made chai!

Three moms brought their own homemade masalas and each of them made a slightly different tasting chai.
We will talk about the differences in chai next time.
Chai and samosas were very global. Japanese, Vietnamese, and Koreans all talked a lot when there was chai! The power of chai was amazing.

Chai is great, but children are also global. A Japanes and a Vietnamese child, both 4 years old, met for the first time. After a little time, they were playing together. The Vietnamese baby, who was just a few months old, was fine with being held by a Japanese and by an Indian. Children are amazing!

And the "participation" of the participants was also amazing. The participants took the initiative in preparing and cleaning up. Thank you very much!
So, thanks to the volunteer moms, the chai, the samosas, the children, and all the participants, we had a great time this month.
