#26 Mのスジガキ

1984年。
M監督の映画『風の谷のNシカ』
を観に新宿の映画館に行った。

父がついてきた。
思春期の子どもにとっては敵でしかない。
父は子どもの見る映画に興味はないが、新宿のデパ地下の食品売場には興味津々だった。
奇跡的に利害が一致した。
姉と私を映画館に置いて、
父は昼の新宿の街へと消えていった。

映画が終わると父が待っていた。
そして、
親子の利害が一致する奇跡的瞬間が再び訪れた。
黄色のMだ。
子どもは食べたい。
父はさっさと帰りたい。
この瞬間ファストフードが勝利した。

私はホットチョコレートを注文した。
コーヒー飲むとバカになるとか、
コーラを飲むと歯が溶けるとか、
そんな噂を信じていたのかもしれない。

帰り際、
私は映画の余韻と人混みと乗り物酔いに襲われた。
甘いホットチョコレートが弱った三半規管と消化器官に追い打ちをかけてくる。
選択ミスだ。
父のさっさと帰りたい野望も打ち砕かれた。

1984.

I went to a movie theater in Shinjuku to see Director M's movie "N--sica in the Valley of the Wind"

My father accompanied.
For adolescent children, he is an enemy. My father was not interested in the movies that children watch, but he was interested in the food section of the department store in Shinjuku. It was a miraculous coincidence of interests.
Leaving my sister and I at the cinema, my father disappeared into the streets of Shinjuku at noon.

When the movie was over, my father was waiting for us.
And the miraculous moment when the interests of parent and children coincided came again.
It's yellow M.
Children want to eat.
Father wants to go home quickly.
At this moment, fast food won.

I ordered a hot chocolate.
I heard that drinking coffee makes you stupid, or that drinking cola will melt your teeth,
I may have believed such rumors.

On the way home, I was struck by the aftermath of the movie, the crowd, and motion sickness. The sweet hot chocolate is a good way to push the weakened semicircular canal and digestive system into the tailspin. It's a choice mistake. My father's ambition to go home quickly was also shattered.
