I’ve heard that BBC reporter say “I got the first dose of Pfazer jab” about vacctination and wondered what’s that.
the answer is in an article of the Guardian;
why do we call activations jabs
This is a light article good to read for a few minutes.
In this short article, I've got many words I didn't know.
- chummy and infantilising
- poking or thrusting
- ardently
- salubrious
- fiends
- hypodermic injection
I knew “poke” as a casual greeting but didn't know it initially has “prodding” meaning.
I know I have a poor vocabulary in Business English, but I seem to have to learn more than that.
I’m thinking of reading Guadian in addition to WSJ for cultivating my word power. I think NYT is OK but somewhat difficult to keep reading.
