印籠も、桜吹雪の入れ墨も無意味となった今では、テレビの時代劇はファンタジーに見える
BS-TBSでは、平日夜に『水戸黄門』を再放送している。
杉良太郎さんが出演していた頃はよく見ていたものだが、もう水戸黄門も、遠山の金さんも、もし新作がテレビで放送されても見ることはないだろう。
格さんが印籠を見せても、それは本物か？証明して見ろ、と言われて黙り込んでしまう光景が目に浮かんでしまう。
遠山の金さんが桜吹雪を見せても、それがどうした、と言われてしまうだろう。
２１世紀は、嘘と真実が見分けられない時代になってしまった。
権力者どうしが、映像を見せあいながら「これは作り物だ」「これは真実だ」といい争い、決着がつかない時代が来るとは思っていなかった。
NHKでは大岡越前の時代劇を作っているから、銭形平次とか桃太郎侍なら、新作が作られるかもしれないが、見たい人はいるだろうか。
大河ドラマはまだ続いているが、赤穂浪士の物語（「忠臣蔵」）は１９９９年の『元禄繚乱』が最後の登場である。これはかたき討ち、つまり復讐の物語である。そのことについては、改めて書いてみたい。
しかし一方、私はシャーロック・ホームズをジェレミー・ブレットが演じたテレビドラマを観て楽しいと思う。水戸黄門は見たいと思わないのに、なぜだろうか？やはりコナン・ドイルの原作の力が大きいのだろうか。
「つまり陛下は、この若い女性とお知り合いになられ、あとでお立場を危うくされるような手紙を出されてしまったので、いまそれを取り戻したいとお望みなのですね」
「まさにそのとおりだ。だが、なぜそれを――」
「秘密で結婚なさいましたか？」
「いや」
「法的効力のある書類や証書をお渡しになったことは？」
「ない」
「それではお気持ちの理解に苦しみますね。かりにその女性がゆすりなどの目的で陛下の手紙を使おうとしても、偽物でないと証明するのは無理でしょう」
「筆跡というものがある」
「そんなものは偽造されたものだと言えます」
「わたし専用の書簡箋が使ってある」
「盗まれたと言えます」
「わたしの封印が押してある」
「それも偽造だと」
「わたしの写真がある」
「買ったものだとおっしゃれば」
「二人で撮った写真なのだ」
「やれやれ！それはいけません！まったく、無分別なことをなさいましたね」
「正気ではなかったのだ――頭がどうかしていたとしか思えない」
「ボヘミアの醜聞」事件では、写真が鍵だったが、これも今では合成写真だと言えば終わってしまうだろう（なお、この会話の原文はそっけないほどシンプルである。興味のある方は下の英文をみてほしい）。
例えば、『シャーリー・ホームズと緋色の憂鬱』という、日本の作家が書いた、シャーロック・ホームズ作品『緋色の研究』のパスティーシュ小説がある。これは街角の監視カメラの録画も捏造されるような、なんでもありの設定で、あまり楽しめなかった。これがアニメであれば、そこそこ楽しめるかもしれない。
もし、こんな時代が来たら、何がまともな証拠として認められるのだろう？

BS-TBS rebroadcasts "Mito Komon" on weekday nights.
I used to watch it when Ryotaro Sugi was appearing, but I wouldn't see Mito Komon or Toyama no Kin-san if the new work was broadcast on TV.
Even if Kaku-san shows the inro, is it real? The sight of being silent comes to my mind.
Even if Toyama no Kin-san shows a tattoo of Sakurabuki, he will be asked what the evidence is.
The 21st century has become an era in which lies and truths cannot be distinguished. I didn't think that the time would come when the people in power would argue with each other, saying, "This is a fake" and "This is the truth," while showing each other the images.
Since NHK is making a historical drama of "Ooka Echizen", new works such as "Sengata Heiji" and "Momotaro Samurai" may be made, but is there anyone who wants to see it?
The taiga drama is still going on, but the story of Ronin Ako ("Chushingura") has not been made since "Genroku Ryoran" in 1999. This is a story of slaughter, or revenge. I would like to write about that again.
But on the other hand, I find it fun to watch the TV drama Sherlock Holmes played by Jeremy Brett. I don't want to see Mito Komon, why? Is the power of Conan Doyle's original work great?
"Your Majesty, as I understand, became entangled with this young person, wrote her some compromising letters, and is now desirous of getting those letters back."
"Precisely so. But how—"
"Was there a secret marriage?"

"No legal papers or certificates?"

"Then I fail to follow your Majesty. If this young person should produce her letters for blackmailing or other purposes, how is she to prove their authenticity?"

"Oh, dear! That is very bad! Your Majesty has indeed committed an indiscretion."

In the "A Scandal in Bohemia" case, photography was the key to the case, but now it's too simple to say that it's a composite photo.
For example, there is a pastiche novel titled "Shirley Holmes and the Scarlet Melancholy," written by a Japanese author. I didn't enjoy this one very much because it was set in an anything-goes setting, where even the recordings of surveillance cameras on street corners were faked. If this were an anime, it might be enjoyable.
If such a time comes, what will be accepted as decent evidence?
Is the confession the king of evidence? Oh, I'm scared.
