去年、高校の同窓会に行ってきたのでした

私が高校生のころ、６５歳の人がどういうものか想像もしなかった。同窓会で久しぶりに会った、顔なじみの人達は皆、自然と歳を重ねたように見えた。

私の高校時代は、１学年５００人で、私のクラスは４６人だった。
クラスのうち、女子の一人だけが病気で亡くなっている。

同じ高校で、１学年下だった友人に聞くと、彼のクラスも、一人だけ病気で亡くなったそうだ。

令和４年簡易生命表によると、男女それぞれ 10 万人の出生に対して 65 歳の生存数は、男 89,573 人、女 94,362 人となっている。これは 65 歳まで生存する者の割合が男は 89.6％、女は 94.4％であることを示している。

私たちのクラスは、今のところ、この生存率を上回っている。

私が卒業した高校の学生数は、今は１学年３６０人だ。
県内に多くの男子校や女子高があったが、ほとんど共学になった。
今後さらに子どもが減っていけば、学校の数も減っていくのだろうか。

今も、男子生徒は詰襟の学生服を着ているので、タイトル写真も、「みんなのフォトギャラリー」からこれを選んだ。
冬、襟のカラーが冷たかった。
このまま変わらないのだろう、多分。

Last year, I went to a high school reunion.

When I was in high school, I had no idea what it would be like to be 65 years old. All the familiar faces I met at the class reunion for the first time in a while seemed to have aged naturally.
When I was in high school, there were 500 students in each grade, and my class had 46 students. Only one girl in the class died from an illness.

When I asked a friend of mine who was one year younger than me at the same high school, he told me that there was only one person in his class who died from the disease.

According to the 2020 simplified life table, for every 100,000 births for each male and female, the number of survivors at the age of 65 is 89,573 for males and 94,362 for females. This shows that the percentage of men who survive to age 65 is 89.6% for men and 94.4% for women.

Our class currently exceeds this survival rate.

The high school I graduated from now has 360 students in each grade. There were many boys' and girls' high schools in the prefecture, but most of them became co-educational. If the number of children decreases further in the future, will the number of schools decrease as well?
