６５歳になってもまだ働けるかな、と思うのだけれど．．．
あれほどの豪快な冒険生活を送ったフランボウだが、さすがに血は争えない。たいていのラテン人種に横溢していてアメリカ人などには欠けているあの気力、つまり、どうしても隠居せずにはおかないという気概をフランボウも持ち合わせていたのである。
先日、若い人たちに、阪神淡路大震災の話をしたら、反応が芳しくなかった。そして、彼らはその頃まだ生まれていなかったことに気づいた。
彼らにとっては、昔話のように聞こえたのだろう。考えたら、これまでに、この話をした相手は、ほとんど同世代の人たちばかりだった。１９９５年よりも後に生まれた人が大勢いるということに、今更ながら愕然としてしまった。
政府が公開している、２０２２年６月１日現在の年齢別人口統計（確定値）を見てみた。私が話をした、若い人の年齢以下の人口は、全体の約２１％を占めている。
そんな私は来年で６５歳になり、嘱託社員としての仕事も終わる。
このまま何もしないと、長いサラリーマン生活が終わる。
幸い、まだ何かをする力はある、と思う。
インフレだし、収入も欲しい。
６５歳以上で働いている人はどれくらいいるのだろうか？
総務省統計局による、『労働力調査（基本集計）2021年（令和３年）平均結果の要約』を見てみた。
２０２１年時点で、６５歳以上の男は34.1%、６５歳以上の女は18.2%の人が働いている。しかも、２０１１年から、この率は少しづつ増えている。
海外と比べてみたらどうだろうか。
２０１６年の時点で、シンガポールよりは低いが、欧米諸国に比べると、相当高い。欧米諸国の中では、アメリカの率が高く、フランスやイタリアは低いが、これは冒頭に引いた通り、ラテン人種の気質によるものかもしれない。
いずれにせよ、日本では６５歳の男のうち、３人に１人が、何かの仕事をしている。高齢者が働く理由について聞いたアンケートがある。
60歳以降も働きたいと思っている人（936名）を対象に、60歳以降も働きたいと思う理由を尋ねる調査が行われたところ、「生活の糧を得るため」（77.0%）が最も高く、次いで、「健康を維持するため」（46.2%）、「生活の質を高めるため」（33.9%）、「働くことに生きがいを感じているため」（28.8%）、「仕事を辞めてもやることがないから」（24.9%）となった。金銭面や健康面が理由となっているケースが多いようだ。
中国出身の若い人に聞いたら、中国では歳をとったら、孫の面倒を見る人が多い、と言っていた。１４億人が住む国なので、一般的かどうかはわからないが、日本とは違うのだろう。
先日、理髪店で髪を切ってもらいながら、こんな話を聞いた。
コンビニエンスストアの求人募集に応募して採用された６５歳の人が、高速バスの切符発行時に、客にレシートを渡したが、切符を渡し忘れた。
客も不慣れで、切符をもらっていないことに気づかなかった。
店のオーナーがバス会社に電話して、その客はバスに乗れたが、彼が従業員に、切符発行の練習をするように言うと、その従業員は怒って辞めてしまった。
その穴埋めで、ネパール出身のアルバイトにしわ寄せが行っているという。
高齢者を雇うのはリスクが伴うこともある。
私の場合、頭はまだ柔軟だと思うが、重たい荷物を持ち上げる力がないので、コンビニエンスストアの従業員は務まらないだろう。
定石通り、来年は職業安定所に行ってみようか。
※１９９０年から、職業安定所のことをハローワークと呼ぶようになったそうだ。なんだかパッとしない名称に思える。

今私は６４歳で、幸いこの歌詞の状況だと思う。ただし、この曲が作られたのは１９６７年なので、平均寿命が伸びた今では、この歌の年齢を高くしないといけないかもしれない。

How many people over the age of 65 are working? I took a look at the "Labour Force Survey (Basic Tabulation) 2021 (Reiwa 3) Average Results Summary" by the Statistics Bureau of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
In 2021, 34.1% of men aged 65 and over and 18.2% of women aged 65 and over are working. Moreover, since 2011, this rate has been increasing little by little.
How would it compare to overseas?
As of 2016, it is lower than Singapore, but considerably higher than Western countries.
Among Western countries, the rate is high in the United States and low in France and Italy. This may be due to the temperament of the Latin race, as I quoted at the beginning.
In any case, one in three 65-year-old men in Japan has a job. There is a questionnaire asking about the reasons why elderly people work.
A survey was conducted of 936 people who want to work after the age of 60, asking why they want to work after the age of 60. Highest, followed by “to maintain health” (46.2%), “to improve quality of life” (33.9%), “to find meaning in working” (28.8%), “If I quit work, there is nothing to do” (24.9%).
In many cases, financial and health reasons seem to be the reason.
When I asked a young person from China, he said that many people in China take care of their grandchildren when they get old. It's a country with 1.4 billion people, so I don't know if it's common, but it's probably different from Japan.
The other day, while I was having my hair cut at a barber shop, I heard this story.
A 65-year-old person who was hired after applying for a job offer at a convenience store forgot to give the customer a receipt when issuing a highway bus ticket.
The customer was also inexperienced and did not realize that he had not received a ticket.
The shop owner called the bus company and the customer got on the bus, but when he told the employee to practice ticketing, the employee quit angrily.
Therefore, it is said that part-time workers from Nepal are suffering.
Hiring older people can be risky.
In my case, I think my brain is still flexible, but I don't have the strength to lift heavy loads, so I wouldn't be able to work as a convenience store employee.
