How to hold a pencil may be decided at 3 years old
As I wrote before, the letters I write became illegible. But holding a pencil is fine. I sometimes see young people holding pencils and ballpoint pens in strange ways.
Once, a woman named Hama Omura wrote the following in her book "Teaching" written 50 years ago.
Fifty years ago, this is the situation.
According to this article, even in the first grade of elementary school, it is difficult to correct the way you hold a pencil.
The article also states, "The best time to teach children how to hold a pencil correctly is around the age of 3. At this age, they have acquired the ability to hold a pencil."
If many children actually start to pick up a pencil at about age 3, the way they hold it at that time may continue, as the saying goes, "A 3-year-old's soul lasts until 100."
