海外の名作文学を読み解きながら英文法を学ぶシリーズの最新刊は、シャーロック・ホームズ。これまで、このシリーズは、ヘミングウエイが2巻、オスカー・ワイルド、オー・ヘンリーと全4冊、楽しく読んできた。シャーロック・ホームズは日本語でもちゃんと読んだのは2作くらいだが、今、NHKBSで再放送しているBBC制作のTVドラマシリーズは、現在まで30話近く、欠かさず観ている。今回の本で取り上げる「青いザクロ石の冒険」はTVドラマシリーズの中でも印象に残る話だったので、英語で読むのが楽しみだ。

◎がちょうの中から出てきた宝石は、新聞をにぎわしている高級ホテルでの宝石盗難事件とつながっているようだ。

◎同じ単語を何度も辞書で確認しているような。。。物語を楽しむには細かいところは飛ばしてでも読み進めばいいのだけど、英語の勉強だからなぁ。丁寧に読んでいくことも大切。
