住宅地として人気の瀬名地区。「水梨」の源右衛門さんの話の続きと長尾川沿いの大きな石の話です。

瀬名地区と家康公　パート2

おなじみ・徳川家康公像
これは将軍引退後の大御所時代の家康公。
左手にはお気に入りの鷹が。

Moreover, Lord Ieyasu told Genwemon that he would grant the latter all the land that he could cover by walking.

さらに家康公は源右衛門に歩いただけの土地を授けようと言いました。

Although Genwemon had a walking disability, he walked as long as he could.

源右衛門は体が不自由でしたが、出来る限り歩きました。

He became a wealthy landowner and was additionally granted a ‘chagama ’(kettle for the tea ceremony) and a spear by Lord Ieyasu.

源右衛門は金持ちの地主になり、さらに家康公より茶釜と槍を与えられました。

Genwemon was given the family name ‘Watanabe’, and his descendants have been living there even to this day.

源右衛門は「渡邉」という苗字を頂き、彼の子孫が今なおそこに住んでいます。

It is said that Lord Ieyasu also enjoyed swimming in the Nagao River in Sena.

家康公は長尾川で泳ぐのを楽しんだと言われています。

現在の長尾川と水梨橋

Along the Nagao River, there is a big rectangular stone that is 1m long and 80cm high.

長尾川沿いに、幅1メートル、高さ80センチの長方形の石があります。

The stone was among those transported to Sumpu for the construction of the stone walls in Sumpu Castle.

その意思は駿府城の石垣を建築するために駿府へ運ばれる石でした。

石垣用に直方体になっています

However, the rock accidentally fell while being transported.

しかし、その石は運ばれる最中に落ちてしまいました。

At that time, fallen rocks were considered to bring ill fortune, so the fallen rocks were left to sink in the river.

当時、落ちた石は縁起が悪いと考えられ、そのため、その石は放置され川に沈んでしまいました。

However, in 1976, the rock was found during a river improvement project and was placed in its current location.

しかし、1976年に川の改修工事で発見され、現在の場所に置かれました。

切石と呼ばれています。
