NHK大河ドラマの「鎌倉殿の十三人」に登場する梶原景時の終焉の地としても知られる静岡市葵区瀬名。徳川家康公に関わるいわれもある場所です。

瀬名地区と家康公 パート1
Sena is located on the border of Aoi and Shimizu Wards.
瀬名は葵区と清水区の境にあります。
It is a popular suburban area and is home to many historical events.
人気のある郊外の地区で、多くの歴史的出来事があったところです。
Lord Ieyasu’s first wife, Lady Tsukiyama, was called Princess Sena because she was born in this area.
家康公の最初の妻、築山殿はこの地区で生まれたため、瀬名姫と呼ばれました。
She was famous for her beauty.
彼女はその美貌で有名でした。
She fell under suspicion for holding secret communication with the Takeda clan, who were enemies of the Matsudaira and Oda clans, so she was executed as a punishment.
築山殿が松平家と織田家の敵である武田家と内通していると疑惑を持たれたため、殺害されました。
Such tragedy makes the Sena area more historical.
そのような悲劇を聞くと瀬名地区がより歴史的に感じられます。
According to historical documents, Lord Ieyasu often came to this area to enjoy falconry when he lived in Sumpu.
歴史書によると、家康公は駿府在住の時、しばしばこの地区に来て鷹狩を楽しみました。
One time, Lord Ieyasu ordered his servants to bring him water.
ある時、家康公は家来に水を持ってくるように命じました。
At that time, the wife of a local man named Genwemon ran into Lord Ieyasu’s servants.
その時たまたま地元の民である源右衛門の妻が家康公の家来がいるところに居合わせました。
She offered Lord Ieyasu pears freshly picked from her orchard.
彼女は畑から取ったばかりの梨を差し出しました。
Lord Ieyasu ate the pears instead of drinking water.
家康公は水を飲む代わりに梨を食べました。
He was so pleased with the pear’s taste, so he named the land ‘Mizunashi’, which literally means ‘water pear ’.
家康公は梨の味をたいそう気に入って、その土地を「みずなし」と名づけました。文字通り「水梨」の意味です。
Nowadays, the place is known as "the fourth district" of the Sena area.
今では、その場所は瀬名4丁目として知られています。
