【ヒトツカタ：職人】「職人」は、豊かなクラシを共有する仲間として、大切にしたい人たちです。

職人とは

職人と言う言葉が好きです。 職人のイメージは言葉少なに忍耐強く、信念と自信を持って自分の仕事に向き合う仕事人の姿です。

派手ではありませんが、内からの輝きを感じます。

 職人の手からは、丁寧で心のこもった「何か」が生まれます。

 「プロフェッショナル」という言葉をよく耳にします。 その道の達人にスポットライトをあてた追跡レポートとして構成されている「プロフェッショナル: 仕事の流儀」と名打ったテレビ番組がありましたが、そこに登場している人達には、「プロフェッショナル」というカタカナ英語よりも、日本語の「職人」という呼び方が、もっと相応しいのではいう氣がしてなりません。

 番組に登場する「職人」達は、其々独自の言葉で、口を揃えて同じことを言います。 「私の仕事に終わりはありません。 いつも更に完璧なものを求めて仕事を続けています。 」謙虚さに支えられた自信を持つ人達は、皆輝いています。

今回のヒトツカタ・アートは、「しょくにん」を古代文字に置き換えて描いた絵です。

このイメージを見ながら思う事、それは、「職人」は元氣人（ゲンキビト)であるということです。 

「元氣人」は、その人が生きて、自分の仕事をしてくれていることを、有難いと思える人です。 

「職人」は、有名人や芸能人のような憧れの対象ではなく、豊かなクラシを共有する「仲間」としての存在であって欲しいと思います。

仲間を大切にするということは、職人の手から生まれるものを適切な対価を支払って受け取り、

それを感謝の氣持ちで大切に使わせてもらったり、ゆっくり味わって食べたり、することだと思います。

職人シリーズでは、いろいろな職人さんたちのヒトツカタアートとその活躍ぶりを紹介していきます。

I like the word “artisan” in Japanese. The Japanse word is prounounced shoku-nin (職人) and is translated to English as an artisan or craftsman. Recently in Japan there’s an interesting documentary program called, “The Professional”. It highlights many different Japanese artisans doing their work across Japan. There aren’t many of these artisan’s left in Japan, which may be the reason why we find such fascination with their work.The image of an artisan is a figure of few words, who is ever patient, and who takes on the work with belief and confidence. Such a person is not flashy, but shines a light that radiates from deep within. From the hands of an artisan is born a craft that emerges from a flow of thought, time and connection to self.I resonate with the consistent message that I’ve heard time and time again from these craftsmen, “there is nothing that ends with my work, as perfection does not exist. Yet, I continue seeking perfect in my work”. The many artisans that have been highlighted in “The Professional” have expressed this same message in their own unique ways. Artisans shine a distance confidence from a place of humility.
