Our Approach to Safety

At REALITY, you can break free from the constraints of the real world to become “whoever you want” and express yourself in several ways. 
We have users who actively pursue their dreams and objectives, users who support those giving their best in their activities, users who just want to enjoy a relaxed REALITY lifestyle, and many other forms of becoming whoever you want. 

In order to make REALITY a place where many people can connect and engage in a variety of activities, we believe that it is necessary to make REALITY a safe environment for the community to use. We have been working on various initiatives such as strengthening audits and developing functions to make REALITY safer. On the other hand, we have not disclosed to you our specific efforts and the number of detections to date.

To ensure that everyone can enjoy REALITY with peace of mind, we have decided to launch a Transparency Report this month to disclose the number of issues that have been addressed, our efforts to improve safety, problems reported by users, and our policy for resolving these issues. The Transparency Report will be updated monthly.

Number of Cases Handled - May 2024

In May, the number of penalties triggered by user reports decreased. However, cases of repeated violations by users holding multiple accounts are still occurring, resulting in a persistently high number of permanent account suspensions.

• Reports made: 26,131

• Number of Penalties Enforced: 5,550

• Temporarily Suspended Accounts: 331

• Permanently Suspended Accounts: 3,627

• Accounts permanently suspended due to age (13 or less): 585

Additional Measures to Protect Underage Users from Unwanted Interactions

At REALITY, we are committed to making our various communities more enjoyable and safe for everyone. To achieve this, we have implemented several initiatives, such as strengthening our response to reports and introducing moderator functions.

We place particular emphasis on the safety measures for our underage users. So far, we have introduced several safety measures, including restrictions on sending and receiving images and videos in chats and age zoning for broadcasts.

As a new measure to protect underage users from unwanted interactions, we have decided to disable the ability for them to receive messages from people they do not follow by default. This setting is common in social media platforms that prioritize the safety of underage users. With this new setting, underage users will only be able to receive messages and be added to group chats by people they already follow.

Regarding Accounts Impersonating the REALITY Team

Although rare, we have identified cases where fake accounts impersonate the REALITY team, pretending to have authority or internal information, and requesting personal or financial information.

While REALITY team members may engage within the app, we will never use individual accounts to share internal information or ask for your personal details. Any announcements or confirmations regarding our services will be officially communicated through the in-app "Notifications" or "Chats from the REALITY Team," as well as on our "Official Note" and "Official X" channels.

Impersonating the REALITY team is strictly prohibited by our terms of service. If you encounter any accounts that you believe are impersonating the team, please use the reporting feature to notify us.

We will continue to provide various safety updates, including new moderation tools and revised policies, so that you can enjoy REALITY more safely and securely.
