Additional measures to protect underage users from unwanted interactions

At REALITY, we are committed to making various communities more enjoyable and safe for everyone, through efforts such as strengthening reporting measures and implementing the stream moderator feature. We place special emphasis on safety measures for underage users and have introduced several safety features, such as restrictions on sending and receiving images and videos in chats, and age zoning for live streams.

As an additional measure to protect underage users from unwanted interactions, we have decided to set the feature that allows them to receive messages from users they do not follow to be turned off by default. This setting is common in social media platforms that prioritize the safety of underage users. With this new setting, underage users will only be able to receive messages and be added to group chats from users they already follow.

■ Change in Settings:
In the privacy chat settings, the default settings for "Receive Chats" and "Add to Chat Groups" will be changed to "People You Follow."
※After the management does the uniform setting changes, you will be able to undo the changes and go back to the former settings by yourself, if you want to return them to the former setting.

■ Target Accounts:
Accounts on REALITY with a registered age of under 18.

■Change Date:
July 1, 2024 (Japan Time)

■ Precautions
・If you have an open chat window with someone you do not follow, that chat will be hidden from the chat list after the default setting change.
・"Thank you" messages sent after the end of a stream will no longer be received from users you do not follow.
・If you want to continue chatting or receive thank you messages, please follow the other person or change the chat reception settings to "Anyone."
